I am from Philly and i know the area pretty well- i think you will be fine! The only concern i would have is weather but the city is pretty good about getting it cleared up quickly. I think winter weddings are gorgeous! I originally wanted a November wedding but a couple VIPs live in the Poconos and i was worried about weather and our venue offered us a huge discount for booking in an off season month- so that is how we ended up with July!

If you have a winter wedding, make it local (within 30 minutes) for the majority of your guests in case of bad weather.

Winter weddings can be beautiful. I'm from Upstate NY and the weather is always unpredictable. On my date it was rainy but warm, the next day it was rainy and in the low 40s in October. You just never know. Go with what you want and just purchase insurance and be prepared for a winter storm!

We are getting married at the end of February in the DMV. There's a risk as others have said, but its great for booking venues (discount), vendors (highly available), and what else does your family/friends have to do in the winter? Plus we can serve warm cider and yummy treats! We are taking advantage of the season - of course everything is indoors and our location is accessible by metro if the roads are not drivable. Insurance is a good idea!
