People keep asking me what the theme of my wedding is but I have no idea. What are yours?

We are doing a tropical theme! My FH is from Indonesia (islands) and I have been in love with the tropics my whole life and previously lived in the keys. It's so fun having such bright colors and really fits both our personalities!

Thanks. Even with a backup date in mind, the weather should still be good for a beach themed wedding. So yay there. Good luck with whatever theme you end up choosing.

Our theme was wedding! I honestly don't think people need wedding themes (unless you're into that). But it's very normal to just have color palette, not a theme

You definitely don’t need a theme, though you might have a style or level of formality to your event. I kinda think of it like what’s the vibe you want to give off.
When I hear someone specifically say theme I think more of picking a movie or genre which isn’t necessarily a lot of people.

We decided on a "theme" after we started to choose the colors, decor, etc. My FH thought of a celestial theme as we both adore the night sky. Our wedding is going to be outdoors and we wanted more natural elements as we love the outdoors (camping, hiking, etc.) so we're integrating that too as it's a blended idea.

I would honestly choose a theme if it feels right and suits your interests as a couple. Make it personal.

No real theme. Its on the waterfront in a ballroom. So, I guess "coastal elegance"... we are decorating mainly with candles and there are crystal chandeliers in the ceiling. Our placards are half shell oysters with the guest's name in calligraphy. Our colors come from the inside of an oyster shell: mauve, dusty blue, ivory. Our guestbook is 2 wooden oars that our guests will sign and then we'll hang them in our home. Bridesmaids are wearing dusty blue, groomsmen in black tuxes. We'll have tropical-ish florals all in neutral colors.

Our theme is us. Every element somehow represents our relationship. Some things represent him. Some represent me. Or how we met. We thought that was more meaningful than trying to fit a certain time period or style.

Ours was island romance with a beach destination wedding, which crashed and burned with COVID-19. We married outdoors anyway at another venue and city. No theme necessary of course for your nuptials. And big congratulations!!

I feel it’s been easier to find decor and to plan just by picking a theme. We are doing a rustic/country/sunflower wedding. Pinterest has great ideas!

I always respond 'classic and timeless' with my satin ballgown and the white and airy look with pink in the reception that is what I am aiming for!
