The stress is different

Marah, on June 16, 2020 at 2:26 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10
The stress of planning a wedding is bad planning a wedding in post pandemic America is a whole new level.
Many of the vendor won’t answer the phone or emails and others aren’t sure they will be starting back in the business till next year or ever.

It’s becoming difficult to plan a wedding that is decent let alone dream like
The best part is I get to marry my soul mate he is wonderful through this whole thing
He even hides my planner on the weekends so I have down time . But we are still getting non commit answers from the groomsmen and one bridesmaid has family events a world travel planned for the same weekend as the bachelorette and bridal shower
Sorry if I am whining I am just curious if anyone else is going through this too

I’m not going through exactly that, but I do agree that the stress is different. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. We got very lucky with vendors .. we used all small family owned businesses so they are ready to rock and roll! Now guests on the other hand... lol I’m expecting a lower than usual attendance level. People seem wishy washy and I’m having a hard time getting people to commit to anything. We can do this! 👍🏻

This is the hardest experience ever I know exactly how you feel luckily my vendors are great and will come to my backyard wedding but I’m dealing with some drama one of the groomsman is going on vacation the week of our wedding when we have been keeping everyone updated that if we can have you then we want you there out of respect I feel he should have not planned a vacation around this considering you are in the wedding and this is a once in a lifetime thing. Not for nothing you can always go on vacation and both my fiancé and I were in his wedding and went out of our way for him so I am extremely angry and this is disrespectful to my fiancé and I that he is doing this. I don’t think it’s right I understand the circumstances but we have been keeping people updated I could totally understand if he was uncomfortable attending due to the pandemic but your going on vacation rude in my opinion. So yes I totally get it it’s been the most stressful and emotional experience of my life.

Aw I’m sorry to hear. I’m sure it’s even more stressful cause of the pandemic. He is right though - remember to take breaks from it when you’re feeling overwhelmed

I completely agree!! I was already stressed out due to family issues and not knowing what the hell I'm doing with little support from family already, so when the pandemic hit, especially with myself being a essential worker, I just had a meltdown and ignored all wedding planning until like a week ago. There's just so much up in the air. Right now in my state pretty much everything is open and vendors are scheduling and everything, but the cases are the highest in the country, and I expect that we are going to loose everything due to a second wave. Your not alone in this stress!!

I'm so sorry you're going through this Marah, but you're definitely not alone! ❤️

I've seen some other early 2021 brides connecting and sharing their concerns in this discussion as well - you should definitely connect with them: Any Early 2021 bride's???? How are y'all doing with this covid-19 threat??

    Oh wow
It’s definitely frustrating when people expect you to cater to them even when it’s not about them
