Any Early 2021 bride's???? How are y'all doing with this covid-19 threat??

Kelly, on May 16, 2020 at 9:59 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10

I'm March 27th, 2021. I've been planning like normal but honestly I am scared to death... I don't know what's going to happen or if I'm going to be able to have the wedding or ... LOL!! I don't have a dress, I've been telling myself I have plenty of time.. Then the whole world crashed, I don't know what to do!!... I'm not sure if I should keep paying vendors, and I'm really worried about ordering stuff with my date on it... like monogram napkins, and my wedding tree, and my guest favors..I think it would really help to get some input from you other bride's out there!!... Just curious about how all of you other early 2021 brides are handling this!!...

I'm getting married in 35 days and I still can't believe we're having our wedding as originally planned 😅 for like 3 months we didn't think there was going to be a wedding at all, so we had a plan to elope, and even made a back up plan for our backup plan 😂 seems safe to me to plan for March of next year

We postponed our wedding to April 2021. We have no idea if it’ll be able to happen or not due to scientists believing there will be a second wave in the fall. Hopefully by then they’ll be more prepared, but honestly this whole thing is uncertain and we just have to wait and be patient. You can continue to plan and pay vendors, but I would only do so if you understand that there could be a chance that you would have to postpone or change your plans. I would also review with your vendors what would possibly happen if this whole pandemic goes through 2021 and what would happen to your deposits and such. Good luck to us 2021 brides!

Our wedding is November 2020, I’m being optimistic but also nervous because of this second wave threat! I’ve been planning on as normal though and I think you should too, it honestly has been helping me mentally to continue with my wedding planning 😂 as far as vendors go, I would still book everything and get all your ducks in a row but as far as payments go, I would only make the necessary deposits and put your extra wedding money aside! I’ve contacted all of my vendors to make sure rescheduling is possible if absolutely necessary BUT other than that we don’t plan on changing anything unless we are forced to! I’ve also accepted the fact that less guests may come and people may be wearing masks? But I have a lot of hope that we can have a fairly normality wedding by then! Fear of the unknown is a terrible thing

We are April 2021 and planning as normal. We are having a smaller intimate wedding with 60 guest maximum so we are not worried at all. Our family and friends are on the same page as us and we are placing a note in our save the dates saying we are considerate and understanding of any apprehension to travel. Honestly the spike of cases is going to happen this fall (as we open up) and not as much next spring. I would be more concerned if we had a larger wedding. If worse comes to worse, we will cut our guest list further to accommodate any group restrictions but I highly doubt that will happen, especially in North Carolina where we are — there aren’t very many cases as it is now

Our wedding is March 2021. I’m a nervous wreck due to the second wave of covid. I don’t know if we should change the date or continue as normal. I’m trying to be optimistic but at the same time it’s hard because this pandemic could change everything for years to come.

I feel exactly the same!! Like, I'm really worried about ordering everything with my date on it!! Because, if I do have to postpone, I'm going to have to use the stuff with my original date, LOL... We can't afford to re-order everything with a new date!! Idk.. This second wave threat had really got me all twisted!!... Good luck to you and yours girl!!

Hi Kelly! There's still definitely enough time for you to order a wedding dress, and I think it's wise to wait on ordering those date-specific items since you have a long time! (I also changed my mind several times about things like our guest book over the course of 1.5 years of planning! Smiley xd )

You could also think about ordering custom items without a wedding date! I could easily have printed things like our ceremony programs without a wedding date on them (the guests are already there and don't need to know it Smiley laugh ), and then have several copies printed with your final wedding date to photograph and save.

Also here are a few other discussions where I've seen couples with 2021 weddings sharing their current plans and concerns: Any nervous 2021 brides? and 2021 Brides - Are you still planning?

We are early March 2021. I had stopped planning altogether in April with everything being so uncertain and just feeling anxious about it all. But we started slowly planning again this month, we even ordered our save the dates and will mail them in about a week. We had our venue already before all this, and I had my dress already. But everything else is still up in the air. Finally booked bar service and hoping to get catering in the next few weeks. I'm very cautious about all this Covid stuff, and will be upset if it prevents some of our guests from attending but honestly we just want to be married already! So we decided to move forward planning for our same date next spring. As long as venue & catering doesn't cancel, we will still have it regardless of everything else going on in the world. I feel like, it can't get any WORSE than it just was. It might still be strange times like we're in now, but even if we have another wave we plan to have our wedding and hope for the best. Whoever wants to show up, great! I'm tired of living in fear and uncertainty so I'm just going to keep on keeping on! Good luck to you in whatever you decide!
