I wish I could explain to him what is going on so he understands we aren't abandoning him. Those "I dont understand or like what's happening right now eyes" kill me. Anyone else dreading something?

Our wedding is out of town so we’ve been having to take our dog to the kennel quite often and I feel your pain. The workers at our kennel treat our dog like their own and are excited when we bring her. Just remember the workers there enjoy animals and will do everything to make your baby feel comfortable!

We have a sitter that our dog stays in her home, we prefer that a lot more over a kennel. Maybe look into that for the future! I'm sure he will have fun with other dogs & be totally fine.

Those eyes!! Have you looked into Rover.com? The pup can stay home and someone will come and check up on him, play with him, feed him and walk him. Better alternative if you don’t want him to be confused or sad Smiley smile

Ughh I can totally relate, I wish my pups could be part of the wedding, but our venue does not allow dogs Smiley sad Smiley heart They're basically our kids!! It's gonna break my heart dropping them off at boarding! Your blonde lab is soooo cute!!

Aww I completely understand. I cry every time I have to leave my dogs. I leave them with my parents where they used to live so it doesn’t bother them at all but I cry as I pull out of the drive way. Your pup will be happy to see you when you pick him up.

I have been wracking my brain for WEEKS about what to do with my beloved doggy Waylon during the wedding. I would like him in some pictures, but I know that all the people and noise and commotion might be overwhelming for him. The venue is also about 45 minutes from where we live, so I cant really just have someone bring him and then take him home. I also dont know who is going to walk him the night of the wedding and the next morning when we are at a hotel. It breaks my heart.

Zoey is the same way. I'm not dreading it because we have someone to watch her. Our wedding is on a sunday which means we still get to come home, we will be home for a day before we leave for the honeymoon. Which is nice. I have a buddy that's willing to stay at our place and hang out with her while we are gone. Whether or not I get those eyes

We were thinking about the same thing. We ending up blocking rooms at a hotel that is very pet friendly! They will even walk your dog for you while you are gone. It was the more expensive hotel but to us it's worth it. Have to see our guy on our special day.

I am having the same debate with FH about this! Our resort is pet friendly for our venue and I want the doggos there so I can pop in and get snuggles and have them in some of our photos-but he thinks that they will distract us on the big day Smiley sad

Oh the poor puppy! I'd feel the same way. Luckily, my white polar bear (our dog) was able to come with us for our wedding, but our cats had to stay home. They are 16 years old, it was really difficult to put them in the care of my brother to come over twice a day to check on them. By the time we got back from our wedding and honeymoon, one of them gained a 1lb and one lost 1lb.

I got yelled at by our female cat for like an hour, and they wouldn't leave my side. Our dog was perfectly okay cause he got to come for wedding and he got to stay with my parents for a week during our honeymoon, for which we believe he loves them more, LOL

It's hard to spend time away from them

, but sometimes mommy and daddy need some time on their own with dogs or cats sniffing up in areas they shouldn't be. Smiley heart Animal lovers!
