What did you/are you planning to do the day after the wedding? My FH and I are getting married Saturday and leaving for our honeymoon Tuesday. We're staying at a little bed and breakfast the night of the wedding.

Recently a bunch of people have been asking me what our plans are for Sunday, the day after the wedding. I'm really torn. Part of me just wants to spend the day with my husband--I know we're going to be exhausted and want to catch our breath. Then again, we have a lot of OOT guests coming to the wedding that I would love to spend more time with, and I'll have the whole honeymoon to enjoy my husband Smiley smile

If we decide to have a brunch or something on Sunday, that brings another storm of questions--who do we invite? who pays? i honestly don't want to have to invite everyone who came to the wedding, and even inviting all OOT guests would be a lot.

appreciate any advice!

My FMIL is planning a brunch and then we're thinking about coordinating a tour of Buffalo Trace Distillery for those that stay until Sunday (our wedding is on a Friday). That will be something fun for all of us and give OOTGs a chance to see something in Kentucky.

The day after the wedding we leave for our mini-moon. My OOT guests fly in a week before the wedding so we will be spending time with them before the wedding.

My best friend's wedding was 4 hours away, so most guests rented over the weekend. Her and her FH spent the night of the wedding and morning after, at their hotel but then came to hang it with the bridal party and closest family members, in the afternoon and through the night. We had a great time and they did as well. We plan on doing the same, since our wedding is 3 states away.

It's not every day you get so many you care for together in one place.

@windowschick - That sounds like my kind of day-after, tbh.

We were planning on doing brunch on the way back to town (wedding is an hour away). I have a feeling everyone is gonna be so exhausted and I'll want to spend time with my husband that day. We like to do family get-togethers though, so I'm not totally sure.

We are getting married on a Friday night. We are staying in our hotel block that night which has free breakfast so we will see family and friends at breakfast, heading to pick up our dog from the pet hotel and going home to relax..probably take naps..probably without pants as well Smiley smile

Our wedding is a Friday night, so we decided to stay in the hotel the whole weekend. My mom is hosting a brunch the next day, and then FH and I plan to hang out by the pool with whomever is still at the hotel with us! We will be leaving for our honeymoon the Tuesday after

I am driving about 2 hours the night of the wedding to Near Philadelphia Airport, and then we are leaving for our honeymoon around 11 am the next morning.

We were married on a Friday night and left for our honeymoon cruise on Sunday morning. We knew we wanted to be able to relax on that day inbetween. We stayed Friday night at our venue (hotel) and then woke up early to walk on the beach, grabbed breakfast in the hotel's restaurant, packed up our things into the car, helped his parents get on the road and then went home to pack for our trip. We loved having that extra time together just the two of us to enjoy our first hours as Mr. and Mrs.

We left our wedding (Friday night), picked up our suitcases and drove to the hotel by the nearest airport. It was about 3am when we got there. We woke up the next day & flew to Hawaii. It was exhausting, but I kind of liked staying in the whirlwind of wedding excitement through the honeymoon Smiley smile

I would say if you have a lot of OOT guests, it might be nice to see them before they leave. You can make it something casual, like dinner at someone's house. I would recommend doing something later in the day- you're definitely going to want to sleep in!

It would be nice to do a brunch but I don't know if we'll be able to afford it. It all depends on the bar tab at the wedding. I know that most of the hotels I blocked rooms at have really nice complimentary breakfasts so people may not want to do brunch. We also have to drive 4 hours to take FH daughter home on Sunday.

Our DW on an all-inclusive resort is on a Friday evening. I'm positive we're going to want to wake up and stay in bed, but since most of our family/friends will be leaving on late Sat or Sun we're going to try for an unofficial meetup with guests in one of the dining areas for breakfast or brunch.

We had a post wedding breakfast that my mom hosted for our DW. It was nice to see everyone but..I honestly wish I slept in with DH and went to the pool to relax! I had also caught a cold so I didn't feel the best. We didn't leave for our honeymoon for another 4 days.

Cleaning up our venue Sunday morning then heading to my parents house with only close family to hang out, eat left overs and open gifts (if we get any haha ). Very casual and relaxed. Absorbing the time with family before we have to head back to our home in the city. I will be bringing coffee, OJ and pastries to the venue for people helping us clean up (parents and a close friend or two prob.).

Breakfast, then church. Then back home to take a nap before we fly out on a red eye.

We got married on a Friday afternoon, with a short afternoon/early evening reception.

Friday night, about 7:30pm (2 1/2 ish hours after the reception ended) we met some friends at our home bar and drank/danced for a while before going back to our hotel room we had for the night. Played a little Texas Hold 'Em, and had pizza before going to bed.

We were lazy on Saturday morning, checked out at noon, went home, and then DH worked (karaoke host), so we had a big "after party" party at the bar he worked at.

Sunday, we did nothing but lay around with the dogs. Smiley smile

Since my wedding was a long weekend, many guests were not flying out until Monday so we stayed at the resort until then. We hung out by the pool with family and friends, and everyone who was there went to dinner together. I didn't plan anything, it just happened.
