wow. I'm just so stunned!!! I would absolutely KILL my FMIL if she did that!! Like Amber, I have some trust issues, and so when we all went dress shopping, I made everyone put their phones away, and only let them have mine to take pictures.

Ouch !! Facebook and social media should be off limits to anyone posting wedding dresses or anything of the like. That is YOUR special day and shouldn't be ruined prior to the big day.

Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry, it's for this reason I had a no phone policy at dress trials and fittings! Only my mother was allowed so I would have them for reference.

And that is why no one has gotten pictures of me in mine and I went dress shopping alone.

When I went to my first dress shopping appointment- I was having my Mom take pictures of me in each dress. Little did I know she was sending all of the picture to a group chat of herself, me and my FH........ Luckily he was driving up north with one of his friends (a GM) and the GM grabbed his phone as soon as the pictures started popping up and was deleting them as they were received. She still was not understanding why I freaked out.

Wow that is horrible and I would have been so mad. Yes make sure she deleted it from her end. Question is why did she think this was ok?

That stinks. I’ve shown my FH dresses I’ve tried on but definitely not the one I’ve decided on. I could show him the dress everyday and he still wouldn’t realize it. I’m sure it’ll be different (in a very good way) when you’re all dolled up on the day.

OMG!! This is something my own mother tried to do... she doesn't understand my piracy and she tries to post everything on facebook. On top of that, she has me blocked on there so I cant know what she posts about me! I hate it....

What is wrong with her..... id make my MIL buy me a new one in that case !!! Damn I’d be pissed. This is why I went shopping alone and didn’t send any pictures of myself to anyone!! People are so dumb sometimes

Wow. That's insane. Don't stress it. They didn't see the complete finished look with makeup, hair, jewelry and wedding day glow. You will look brand new on that day.

I'm sorry that this happened! I'm going dress shopping next month so now I know to tell the people I'm bringing with me (FMIL among them) to not take pictures with anyone's phone but mine.

Well, that was really stupid. But, like Mary above said, she was probably very excited, proud and thought you looked beautiful.

That being said, you're fine. It will have been 3 months. The dress will look totally different with hair, make-up, flowers and everything else.

You will be beautiful, hubby will be thrilled, everyone will still be surprised.

These are the pictures she posted and obviously it will look way different the day of. The dress still needs a lot of alterations and the hair and makeup will make a big difference. Thank you all for the support, I guess you really just have to roll with the punches and not let yourself get too stressed.
