I was at work and one of my coworkers. as I was eating my dinner made the comment " you better stop eating or your not gonna fit in that dress". I was halfway started with it when I got up ans tossed my food in the trash. She is an older lady and I know she meant it as a joke, but for someone who...
I was at work and one of my coworkers. as I was eating my dinner made the comment " you better stop eating or your not gonna fit in that dress". I was halfway started with it when I got up ans tossed my food in the trash. She is an older lady and I know she meant it as a joke, but for someone who use to have an eating disorder those comments are not funny to me. I explained to her that it wasn't funny to me and im not ok with it.. I've been having a hard time with comments like that recently. Some from family some from coworkers. And im over it. Any one else dealing with comments from people who think there trying to be funny?

Im sorry that happened to you. I had a family member on my fh side that said I might need to find a body suit to help with how tight the dress is around my middle. I told her that picture she seen does not show that dress justice and that she will be surprised when she sees the dress actually fitted. Sometimes I wish people could keep there comments to themselves who think there being helpful

Wow, WOW. SO rude, and some of these other stories have my heart breaking for you guys!
I haven't had TOO much of that, but I did get eyed up and down by my alterations lady who asked if 'I'd been good'!

Real talk, I lost some weight, and then seem to have put a bit of it back on, even though I'm eating the same and working out MORE, not less. Like some of you, I am anxious because I don't eat very much at all and can't think what more I'd have to do to get down to my goal size, if I even have time - my wedding is in february, directly after christmas and new years, which we all know are well-known months of the year for losing weight.

That was rude. I have gained weight since I got my dress but I've been working out. Not because of the wedding, but because I'm trying to better myself. But im 5'2 and almost 150 im active at work constantly. But I still don't like hearing them comments and nobody should have to hear it from anyone not from friends, family or coworkers.

Similar situation here. I am fine with my body how it is and even though I hoped to lose some weight, I bought my dress in a size up from what I thought I'd need, just in case I didn't lose any. But I guess all we can do is do what we think is right for us whether that's lose weight, gain weight or anything in between, and ignore people who make inappropriate remarks like that!

It's not like only people of a certain size or shape are worthy of getting married and the rest of us aren't! And the people who will attend already know what we look like and love us exactly how we are anyway.

I have finally became comfortable in my body. I don't need other people telling me what I should look like. I've been a very self conscious person since high school I got in my 20s and realized I don't care what I should look like. But it still bothers me when people make slick comments thinking they are being funny or helpful

My parents told me that a lot before my wedding and it was so annoying. My dress fit me perfectly from the 2 years prior to my wedding when I first bought it along with my wedding day. I know it’s hard to ignore those comments but try not to take it to turn the other check
No matter what I will look beautiful on ur wedding day in ur perfect dress!
