Super April 2015

Thanks for RSVPing... NOT.

Melissa, on March 10, 2015 at 7:48 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

RSVPs are due tomorrow and I'm missing (drumroll please)... 68 people. SIXTY-EIGHT PEOPLE. I wish I could be really super tacky and go on facebook and be like "hi, if you haven't RSVPed yet, you are no longer invited. kthanksbye."

I had someone try to tell me the other day he hadn't RSVPed yet because he didn't have a stamp to send the RSVP card... I had to remind him we didn't do returnable cards, they were instructed to RSVP online. On top of the fact that for the few returnable RSVP cards (for older, non-tech savvy family), they had stamped envelopes.

So either my website is going to be flooded in RSVPs in the next 24 hours, or I'm going to be tracking a lot of people down... grumble grumble.

Ha....do the facebook thing. I dare you!

No one read our website either. It's infuriating.

I seriously wish I could lol! I think I am going to post something and be like "just a reminder that our RSVPs are due soon" and try to sound nice. I posted something the other day about the hotel block closing this week and to make your reservations and had several people thank me since they'd forgotten. Just drives me nuts! And if anyone else asks if they can bring their kid... HA. No.

I have a hunch that's how it's going to be for me too. Granted the shower is different, but less than half have said anything and the RSVP date is Saturday. I'm fighting myself to mail wedding invitations now.... or wait a couple weeks in hopes they don't put it off.

PS- I hope your website gets flooded!! Smiley smile

Thanks, Chelsea! I just posted something on facebook about how I hoped everyone could join us on April 11th and that RSVPs were due tomorrow. We'll see... You would think the older people I've invited (aunts, uncles, close family friends) would know to get their RSVPs in sooner, but they're the majority of the RSVPs I'm missing!

This a good example of why online-only RSVPs tend to not work as well as you want them to. Hope you get a ton of responses today!

I put the RSVP date at 4/3 knowing people will be late. I won't start hunting down people until after 4/10.

Actually, Stephanie, a substantial number of RSVPs we haven't received are the stamped envelopes!
