Thanking the wedding party at rehearsal dinner?

Christina , on May 22, 2018 at 2:12 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 7
How will you thank the wedding party at the rehearsal dinner? I am wondering if I will need to write a speech or just stand up there and thank them all in a less formal way? What will you be doing?

We just kinda informally got up and said thank you. I don't think you need a formal speech, unless that makes you feel more comfortable when speaking in front of a group.

We plan to kind of get up and informally thank our parents and our bridal party for everything and we plan to give them their gifts at the dinner as well. We don't plan to personally give a speech at the actual wedding so this will be our time to let everyone know how much we appreciate them.

I won't have a pre-written speech but, I will have talking points. Essentially reminders of people or things I want to mention in point form and I'll elaborate on it in the moment. This way I won't forget what I want to say and won't accidentally miss someone in the excitement of everything.

We gave everyone their gifts at our RD. We just thanked them collectively for all their support and we announced them to come up and get their gifts, we hugged them and thanked them as well. It was a formal speech, just we are so happy to have you in our lives, thank you for being a part of our day.

We are just going to stand up and say it, then give them gifts the day of the wedding.

From what I've seen, it works well to have some time for informal speeches, thanks given, and love expressed at the rehearsal dinner. Good time to give gifts, so you don't have more details to keep track of on wedding day. Expressing appreciation is always a good thing, and on the wedding day itself, you may not be able to remember everything.

We will be giving them their gifts (everyone's will be at their seats when they sit down, we will also thank them with a toast. Keeping it simple!
