Thanking of guest

How many of you thanked each guest after the ceremony? Is it something you have to do?

Like a receiving line? Our plan is to give a short thank you toast during dinner and then go around to each table and thank people that way.

I think receiving lines are outdated. We will mingle during part of cocktail hour and do table visits after dinner to thank everyone for coming.

We thanked them as they came and then we sent out cards after and during the reception we went around to every table to greet and thank guests

Our friends had each table come up to them to do a group photo. This let them greet us/thank us/chat, while also getting photos.

We plan to borrow this idea.

We did our best to make our way to each table during dinner to thank people for coming (we only managed about 2/3) and then we tried to make a point of talking to the guests we missed while everyone was dancing etc. I think most people understand it is difficult to make it to every single guest and they know you are thankful that they attended and they will get a thank you in the mail.

I think if you are doing a church ceremony, a receiving line would work. If not, definitely make it a point to get to each guest, even if only for a minute. We are planning to get most pictures out of the way beforehand so that we can start mingling with people during cocktail hour

We did not do a receiving line. I actually think they're pretty outdated, and they always feel super awkward. For us, we thanked people for coming as we saw them at the cocktail hour & reception. And then again in the thank you cards we mailed.

Yes, it is something you need to do. We did table visits during dinner. We wish we would have done a receiving line instead.

I went to a wedding recently where they did no receiving line or table visits and it was completely fine! We went during dancing to congratulate them and get a picture! They also made sure their thank you notes were sent as soon as they got back from their honeymoon! Wedding days are busy and you should spend time enjoying it!

We are planning on doing a receivning line after the ceremony to thank everyone initially but then we are also going table to table after we finish our meal to see and converse with all our guests a little bit more.

You absolutely need to make a point to speak to everyone. We did a receiving line (I'm a fan - it gets too hectic at the reception to try and get to everyone).

Hey there Jessica! How do you plan on handling this at your wedding? Will you do a receiving line?

Just 8 days left! Are you all set? So exciting Smiley smile
