Thank you's, is it too late?

Elizabeth, on November 14, 2012 at 12:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

My best friend got married in July, she was waiting until she got her pictures back to send thank you cards out and she just finally got her disc from the photographer. Would it be rude if she sent them now? Or is it better late than never?

Better late than never, esp if she includes in her note the fact that she was waiting for the photos.

Definitely better late than never! Especially if it's a picture thank you, people will be more understanding to "oh what a beautiful picture- she must have wanted to wait until she got it back to send these out"

I'm sending my thank yous out this week finally. i waited until I got my photos back and then ordered photo cards.

i went to a wedding last july and they sent their thank yous as Christmas cards, so i don't think now is too late for a July bride!

Totally better late than never. People won't remember the timing, but will remember never getting a TY card.

Apparently the golden rule is that you have up to one year to send them... although that seems a bit excessive. I would think it is totally acceptable to wait for the pictures Smiley smile

Sam, that's what people keep saying to me when i sheepishly mention they are on their way! i think 1 year is waaaay too long!

I'm actually in the same boat! I really thought I was going to have my photos at least 4 weeks ago, but with the end of wedding season, so her turnaround time is longer.. ;P

Better late than never for sure!!

We also waited for our photos, plus we had random logistics re: some of our gifts being sent to a house in a different state that I wasn't even able to open until 3 months later, so we got married in April and mailed the last of our notes at the end of July, I think.

You should not be waiting a year to write your thank-yous. And "Don’t include wedding photos or use photo cards if it will delay sending the note."

However, it is still much better to send thank yous late than not at all.
