So, basically I want to terminate my coordinator. She has not responded to me in months and said she would book bartenders for me. Never signed a contract for those. So, basically I want to terminate my coordinator. She has not responded to me in months and said she would book bartenders for me. Never signed a contract for those. She booked them incorrectly, then I corrected her, and she said she booked them correctly but will not give me a price. She has not responded to any of the emails I've sent asking her about the price of bartending or other stuff.. I'm attaching the contract because technically I'm canceling, but I want my money back. She has been extremely unprofessional and I don't have time to deal with this crap anymore.. How do I get out of this and what do I say to her? Mail a termination letter? ETA: Replaced contract picture with taking out location/time/names

Send her a certified letter or wait until she folds up as you indicated.

You dodged a bullet at the low cost of $50 or $100.

@O&S, I completely understand that. But when I have to contact someone 6 times to even get a picture of the contract, and that is possibly booking stuff in my name and won't tell me what they've put me down for, AND doesn't even respond to me letting her know that I've changed stuff (Room flip). Even a simple "Alright." will work, but I can't even get that from her.

@Kristin, I've called her at least 3 times and left voicemails. She never returns my calls.

@O&S, Yes. I've called her and left voicemails. She never calls back. Yet, she's posting on facebook every 20 minutes.

Send her a Facebook message asking if there's a better email to reach her by. That should give her a hint.

@Ms.Fox she doesn't respond to facebook messages either.. I had to facebook message her twice to get my contract.. I think I'm gonna send an email and if she has something to say, she can respond to that..

I wouldn't be too worried about her booking vendors on your behalf. Unless there's other language that's not showing up in the photos, there's nothing in the contract that includes booking vendors as part of her services. In order for you to be on the hook, she'd have to be acting as your agent and there's nothing (from what the photo shows) that shows you've given her authority to be your agent. If I were you, I'd send her an email telling her you're terminating the contract, that you don't expect a refund, and I'd reiterate that she does not and never has had any authority to book vendors on your behalf. That way, worst case, you have something in writing in case some random vendor pops up out of nowhere later on. But if she's only charging $130 bucks and is having financial issues, I highly doubt she's out there negotiating contracts for you with vendors. Sorry you're having such an awful time!

Yeah I would send an email telling her that you've changed your mind and will no longer need her services. You can request the a refund but doubt you'll get it, but I also doubt she'd come after you for another $30(?). If you owe her more for other things, you're not responsible for it if it's not in your contract.

@Nas, exactly.. She said we can just "add it onto our contract" for the bartenders that she supposedly booked..

I emailed her, so we'll see what happens..

I would send her an email and let her know that you will be canceling the contract. I don't think you can expect any money back. If she has court cases against her already, she should be surprised by it. There is nothing in the contract about her being authorized to hire or sign contracts on your behalf so I would think there is no way to actually hold you responsible for anyone she did hire. And from what you've said, I wouldn't be surprised if she never actually hired bartenders. If she did, it was probably her family member that agreed to play bartender for the evening and doesn't actually have any experience or qualifications.

Look for a new DOC. Maybe in another town who is willing to travel a short distance. Make sure the contract is in depth about what services ate being provided and payment.

You could also send a certified letter so you have proof if she says she did not receive your emails and phone calls. She might try to claim that her email or phone service was messed up.

Thanks all for your help. I sent her an email to terminate the contract and have started looking at new DOC.

And what do you know.. She immediately emailed me back and said that I owed her more money than I did and finally answered the question of how much I supposedly owed her for bartending services.. She asked me again if I wanted to cancel my contract and "lose everything that she's done so far"..

Yep. Byeee. She only responds when it's about termination, wow. She doesn't seem like a professional. Good riddance!

@Kristin, I highly doubt she will ask at this point. She started off the response email with "I'm so sorry about my lack of communication and professionalism. I've been so busy..."

I mean it is peak wedding season. She is a DOC so this far out you probably aren't a priority. But I understand why you want out.

@Melody, oh this has been going on for months of her not responding. I didn't get my contract until 4 months after I signed it, and when I did, it was just a picture sent through facebook messenger.. There's really no excuse that works for me anymore.
