Termination of contract.. Contract attached.

FutureMrsGSon, on December 1, 2017 at 12:44 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 39

So, basically I want to terminate my coordinator. She has not responded to me in months and said she would book bartenders for me. Never signed a contract for those. She booked them incorrectly, then I corrected her, and she said she booked them correctly but will not give me a price. She has not responded to any of the emails I've sent asking her about the price of bartending or other stuff.. I'm attaching the contract because technically I'm canceling, but I want my money back. She has been extremely unprofessional and I don't have time to deal with this crap anymore.. How do I get out of this and what do I say to her? Mail a termination letter? ETA: Replaced contract picture with taking out location/time/names

What money are you out besides the $50 deposit?

Honestly, It says DOC over and over, I don't get why someone doing DOC would book vendors for you. Normally they don't get really involved until the month before the wedding.

Yeah, you're not going to get money back on this, I don't think.

Is it just the $50? I'm confused what you would be paying this person. It says N/A for the 15% and its blank for a total fee.

No.. I've paid $100 so far. I still owe her some on top of that.. Losing my deposit is fine, but am I going to have to pay the amount that I still owe her and is there anyway to get my other $50 back?

@LB I know.. She mentioned in our initial meeting that she could refer me to any vendors.. I asked if she knew any bartenders that I could book.. She said to book them through her.. Never got a contract or price on anything.

I have the back of the contract which lists full payments.. I can upload that really quick. She said that I can make payments to her and I have receipts from where I paid her the $50 payment.

I would never work with a contract like this. You can try asking for your money back ,but I wouldn't spend too much time trying to get it.....

This is the back of the contract.. and the only parts I left out of the contract is information with her name and business name, and location and times of my wedding..

What are your expectations this far out from a DOC? I hired mine last month, my wedding is a week after yours & I don't need to contact her again for a while. Maybe you are both confused as to what she should be doing for you this far out?

Wow her total cost is $130??? This is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for"

I'd just cancel and eat it. I doubt you're gonna get anything you've already paid back.

You said you paid $100 and still owe some on top of that... where is that coming from? The screenshots you're showing only address $50.

ETA: I see your 2nd screenshot. Just eat the cost and walk away.

So, for her, her definition of DOC included that she would be more than happy to refer me to people along the way.. My biggest thing is that with her possibly booking something in my name and never giving me a price, I don't want it to come back on me.. I'm just trying to get out of this hell hole right now. I can't believe I was so stupid to have signed this crap with her.. It took me 4 months to get even a PICTURE of the contract (Her hand in last picture) and I don't want her involved at all.. Another vendor that she referred me to said to try to get my money back..

I'm with LB - $130 is *incredibly* low for a DOC - just eat the money, tell her you no longer need her services, and find someone else

@Sarah, yes and she has other add ons that I was going to do.. I just want out.. ETA: yeah.. That was stupid of me to suggest. We went with a different plan.. No room flipping at all..

That contract looks horrible.... the total amount is left blank? Eat the deposit and walk away. I also have a DOC and she doesn't book my vendors.

Your wedding is almost a year away. Honestly, I wouldn't be expecting anything at this point; maybe referring you to other people.

Hell hole??? Thats a little dramatic given the situation and the price you paid for her services.

Right now, I've been told she has lawsuits against her and is possibly shutting down soon. Thats why I said hell hole. I know it was stupid, and you get what you pay for. In our small town, she's the only one that does it and a ton of people go with her.. I was referred to her by one of my good friends.. I booked her in February before I had really booked anything else and didn't know how it worked..

But for someone who doesn't respond to any emails, what do I do? Just send her another one and wait?
