Temperature for outside ceremony

A.L.S., on September 27, 2017 at 10:04 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 25

This weather has been so weird this week in the 90s unusual for Connecticut and now Saturday will be 61 and my ceremony is outside . Is that to cold ?

I don't think so. I wish it was 61 in Florida right now

What time is the ceremony? It will make a difference if the sun is out or starting to set

It will probably end up being perfect! CT weather is too crazy! I've been complaining about it all week! 90 is way too hot for September in Connecticut!

I would say any less than 60 would be too cold, so be careful if your ceremony will continue after dark because it can get cold fast.

Yay CT bride! Yeah, temps have been weird. I think 61 will be just fine, hopefully guest bring some coats!

I'm sure it will be fine. Adults can also dress for the weather!

I think as long as the sun is out, it will be fine.

For me that is cold but I'm used to Vegas weather. We hit in the 70s this past week and I was chilly. Ha!

If the ceremony is like 5pm or before you should be okay. I was at an outdoor wedding on September 1st when we had that cold couple of days and it was chilly. If the sun was out it would have been okay.

I would be pretty chilly, but willing to deal. It might change between now and then too!

I think 61° is perfect! It'll be much more comfortable than sitting in 90° weather

I feel so cold in 61! But it was almost 90 here today and I was loving it. I'm sure that will feel warm in New England!

And yes this weather has been grossly hot! I'm much happier at 61 than 90 lol

We've definitely suffered through colder for October and April weddings!

Realistically, it's not going to be 61 degrees at 4:00 or 4:30 pm if the high for the day is 61. It'll be more like 57, which for me is pretty chilly.

My venue has a policy that 60 degrees is their cutoff for outdoor ceremonies. I did go to one a few years ago that I knew was outside in October in MA and I brought my wool jacket. Everyone thought I was crazy at first since it was so warm during the day but then I was the only warm one there!

You will be just fine. Your guests will look at the weather and dress accordingly. Most times ladies will bring wraps. You may be the most chilly, but ceremonies are typically fairly short. I am looking forward to working weddings this weekend with temps in the 70's and not the 90's we had in MD last weekend.

I think it would be fine, I am in MA. Our wedding day next week is saying high of 74 and I would much prefer to have it in the 60s!
