Teeth Whitening for the Big Day

Haylie, on June 1, 2021 at 12:03 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 11
What has everyone else done to make sure their teeth look great on their wedding day ? I don’t plan on getting mine professionally whitened , I’ve heard it’s pretty expensive. So I was just going to use a really good whitening toothpaste and Crest white strips. Is there anything else anyone has tried and loved ? Any good whitening toothpaste recommendations ? For those who have also used Crest Whitening strips, how long before your wedding did you start using them and how often ?
Any suggestions would be great ! Thank you !

Not for the wedding, but I just started using a teeth whitening kit (gel + LED light to accelerate whitening) about a month before my engagement photos (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PHB5JKF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I'm using the kit every day for one week and then will use the kit once a week for maintenance. Results looking pretty good so far (3 days in). I plan on doing something similar for my wedding Smiley smile

I've used Crest Whitening strips in the past, but I tend to have sensitive gums and had trouble manipulating the strips to fit my mouth which is why I went with the gel kit since I can more precisely apply the gel to my teeth and I haven't had any sensitivity so far.

I use coconut oil. Swish some in your mouth for 10-20 minutes. I do it once or twice a week, but you could do it more often.

I also didn’t like the strips. Those and the gel (not with the LED light) burned my gums. They were very uncomfortable.

My teeth are really sensitive so I don’t use the strips. I’ve been using the Crest 3D White Stain Eraser toothpaste, and it’s my favorite whitening toothpaste so far! Only one I can notice results from

Honestly, I would check with your dentist to check the cost of teeth whitening it might be more affordable than you think. I got teeth whitening thru my dentist a little over a year ago for $150 with bleach/ whitening solution for life. That included the cost of trays and is constantly looking for better solutions. I found some of the others are too harsh on my teeth and cause sensitivity.
P.S. if anyone is in the KC area I can point you my dentist's direction.

That's also what my dentist recommended me! I had a professional whitening treatment at the dentist and she sent me home with opalescence go trays. My husband used the opalescence go trays leading up to our wedding as well. They worked wonders and I'd highly recommend them

We've been using Zimba whitening strips and they are working well so far (5 days in so far). I have used Crest White Strips in the past and most recently we tried Target brand strips with the same ingredients as the Crest products, but the Zimba product seems to work best for us. My husband drinks coffee regularly and has fairly stained teeth, but he noticed an improvement within the first couple treatments.

Zimba is supposed to use natural ingredients and cause no teeth sensitivity, which is why we opted for that before our wedding. Last thing we wanted was white teeth but a mouth that hurt! Based on my experience so far I would recommend them.

I considered the Lumineux brand but it is really expensive. Zimba had great reviews, a reasonable price point, and so far works great. I also feel like we noticed results pretty early, so even if you weren't able to complete the full 14 day treatment (or you decided to split a single box with your SO and each do 7 days), you would see results.
