Hey. I need a suggestion. Anyone here had undergone a teeth whitening procedure as a part of the bridal makeover? My teeth are yellowish and stained. I am addicted to coffee. My wedding is in September. A friend of mine had undergone a teeth whitening procedure in Houston.

If I undergo this procedure now, will the effect stay till my wedding? Which is the best time recommended for a teeth whitening procedure? Should I stay away from coffee after this procedure? Please suggest.

I did for my engagement pictures. I bought a package and still have 3 visits left. They painted stuff on my teeth and I sat with a uv light on my teeth for 20 min.

    No pain and decent results.

I spoke to a professional cleaner and he said that Crest 3d White strips are just as good.

My dentist recommended trying the Crest white strips before going back to him for a much more expensive procedure.

Was thinking about posting a topic similar to this. I don't have dental insurance through work (yay crappy benefits), so I was wondering how the whitening strips worked. I'm just worried because one of my front teeth has a cap and I'm afraid it won't whiten like my actual teeth.

I've added 2 drops of orange oil to my toothbrush when I brush them. It's helped a ton & it doesn't make my teeth super sensitive like any other whitner I've tried. Plus they feel as clean as they do right after going to the dentist

Update: I've been using Crest 3D whitestrips for the past 2 days. They are making a huge difference on my brown spots and without any severe sensitivity, which I was worried about.

Keep in mind you can also use your invisilagn trays to put the whitening gel in there. That's what I'm doing.

Question!! Has anyone tried the coconut oil or baking soda as teeth whitening? And does it work?

I tried the oil pulling and definitely noticed a difference and I use iwhite cleaning and find it great. My cousin in Ireland uses it all the time and she posted it over to me and I now purchase it on Cloud10 beauty website. I'm also scheduled in for a clean the week before my wedding so I have a nice fresh mouth for kissing at the top of the altar lol!!

I've tried Crest Strips, and found they have some result after a few weeks. But getting a tray made at the dentist's was most cost-effective for me. They last for YEARS, and all I have to buy is the whitening gel, which lasts a long time.

My dentist told me to use crest white strips, but to start the two weeks immediately following a dental cleaning. So I scheduled my cleaning about 3 weeks before my wedding and did the white strips for the next 2 weeks...boom, white teeth at my wedding! I also gave up coffee and red wine during the treatment and up until my wedding.

I used the Crest White Strips 3D - the mouthwash and toothpaste. I drink coffee every single day and didn't stop it. I was very happy with my teeth.

Like Lara, I had a cleaning before starting the strips

If your teeth are significantly stained, I recommend getting them professionally whitened at the dentist. It's obviously more expensive, but it is surely worth it. It lasts awhile, but I would probably do it 2-4 weeks before the wedding. I am hugely addicted to coffee (straight black). I have to whiten my teeth once a month with an at home remedy. It's worth it though for the pearly whites. Also, turn in your hot coffee for iced coffee at least one month before the wedding and only use a STRAW. That will help you avoid any last minute staining you can do to your teeth.

Best of luck from one coffee addict to another!
