I am getting married Aug. 6 of this year. We decided to do a destination wedding at the beach. I am getting ready to do student teaching therefore I am unable to work. So we dont have a lot of money. I'm realizing I want some type of video for the ceremony for us to look back on. I quickly realized a videographer is NOT in the budget. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to do DIY video for the ceremony. Can I use Ipad, phone, etc??? Recommends for accessorie pieces?? It doesnt have to be fancy just something for us to look back on for years to come.

My friend had her brother set up a video camera on a tripod. I believe it was located near the front of the ceremony space. He wasn't in the bridal party, so he set play right before the processional and then hit stop after the recessional. It's definitely not professional quality, but it recorded their vows, which was the part that was most important to them.

Sure, you can use an iPad. However, it’s always a little odd when someone’s standing up holding a large iPad and moving it around taking video. So possibly a phone would be a little more discrete. You could have a designated person in a reserved seat in the front row responsible for taking video of your wedding.

Find someone who has a tripod and video camera and just set it up. If you don’t care how fancy it is I’m sure someone could help you with that and maybe you could find a friend to delegate that to.
