Tattoo Cover Up Suggestions?

Cynthia B, on March 11, 2012 at 8:16 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

I have a huge back tattoo, and would like to have it covered up for my wedding (I just think it would be classier not to have it show). I have heard tattoo camo works to cover up, but am concerned because of the size of my tattoo, it's brigtly colored and goes from just below where a crew neck tee shirt would sit to mid thigh.... I think it would take multiple bottles to cover it up, and I would be so sad if it rubbed off to my wedding dress.

Does anyone know of anything that works and is at a reasonable price?

Kat Von D's tattoo concealer DOES NOT conceal well enough to actually cover up a tattoo.

A better option is Makeup Forever's Full Cover Camo Cream it's $30, but you won't have to use much, and follow with a powder to set it.

If you want to go super cheap Coastal Scents has a good Camo Concealer palette for around $17- I have covered tattoos with both of these products easily.

Both are awesome but good luck with whatever you decide!

You all should think about getting it airbrushed because ALL of those tend to rub off...on a white dress, not good. I did several trials to cover mine and airbrushing ended up working the best. I didnt actually cover it for my wedding (the day of, i got super pissed off while getting ready and I did not want to sit still any longer than I had too)

There are a lot of products being sold for tattoo cover. CoverFX, DermaBlend, ColorTration and Kat Von D even makes tattoo cover. While these will cover the tattoo, stability is going to be an issue. If you need the cover up to last and not rub off or smear, your best bet is to go with an alcohol based makeup, preferably airbrush.

Any of the typicall tattoo cover up products are usually a cream consistency and the heat from your skin will cause the cream to begin to soften and melt. Even with a sealer over top you won't be able to keep it from rubbing or smearing off.
