Tasteful garter toss...??

My friend decided not to wear her garter because it was so dang hot at her wedding. She gave it to the groom, he put it in his vest pocket, and went under her dress, pulled it from his vest, and no one knew the difference!

You definitely don't HAVE to do a garter toss just because you're doing a bouquet toss. If you're uncomfortable with it then don't do it.

FH really wants to do one so I've got my garter ready lol. I like that idea @Leona!

Just skip the him taking it off thing. Put it around a football and let him throw it.

You can always have your FH hold the garter in his pocket. No need to go get it under your dress. Mine had the toss garter in his pocket and pretended to go under and then came out with Groom Sunglasses on.

I was at a wedding last week that only did the bouquet toss. No garter.

My family has no sense of humour so I'm not having a garter toss.

Nothing about a garter in public will ever be tasteful, much less crawling under someone's dress, throwing underwear (a garter), messing with someone's leg. Don't do it.

There's nothing tasteful about putting a garter on or taking one off a woman. I've been to plenty of weddings where there was a bouquet toss, but no garter toss.

We are doing a bouquet toss but not the garter toss.

I'll be wearing a garter as a keepsake and my something blue. My FH will have the toss garter in his pocket the entire time.

No need to do both. Just do the bouquet!

I did a bouquet toss where my throw away bouquet was loosely wrapped in a ribbon. I turned my back, unwrapped it and threw the flowers with 2 hands. Mostly everyone got at least one flower.

Tasteful and garter toss don't belong in the same sentence. It's always awkward, IMO. I'm skipping it. I'm not doing a bouquet toss either. But I have seen some alternatives to bouquet tosses on Pinterest. Maybe look into some other alternatives.

At my MOH wedding her husband just had a garter in his pocket to toss. He did not take it off of her.

I have seen several brides not even wear it, so it can't be taken off, the other option could be to wear it on your calf or ankle? Then you can lift the dress hem just far enough he can get it without having to crawl under the dress.
