I'm super white..like I can't play hide and seek because I glow white! My dress is strapless and I really need a good tan..should I tan in a bed? Or should I try to find somewhere and spray tan? I know the spray will be less harmful, but come on ladies it's my wedding the sky is the limit...any...

Sorry if I am repeating..I'm pale too! lol Is your dress white or ivory? Luckily mine is ivory; I read that for paler girls it makes you look less washed out than white. I'm guessing you already have your dress though :-)

I'm definitely not trying to tell anyone what to do or how to live there lives, but I thought I would share my lovely experience with tanning. I was a lover of tanning beds all through college, but 3 years after graduating I had a mole on my leg that didn't look "normal." After visiting a dermatologist and having the mole removed, I received a phone call saying it was severely dysplastic, which means there was a significant chance it was melanoma. Therefore, I went in and a larger chunk of my leg was removed. Since then I haven't stepped foot in a tanning bed, I use sunblock everyday, and I spray tan for events when I would like a little extra color. I just don't see the point in using a tanning bed, when the same result can be safely and easily accomplished with a spray tan or lotion.

I would totally vote airbrush tanning. Just make sure that you have someone do it. Dont get in a box and do it that way. Make sure its a few days before so that the weird dark orange look goes away

I actually got my first spray tan recently. They used just the clear lotion kind, and it didn't rub off on my clothes. They did say that if you are tanning for an event, the best color will come from combining a session in a tanning bed with a spray tanning. That might be something to consider, if you are just doing it once for your wedding and are ok with the risk of one session in a tanning bed. For me personally, I was not interested enough to have even one tanning bed session.

I am a spray tan pro. I've done it for years and have worked with someone who owns their own airbrush company. If you want to know 'how to' do it correctly please send me a message and I'll give you all the details!

First THANK you ladies for your advice! I think I will check out the locations of spray/mystic tanning first and weigh my options with prices and what not. I understand that it is cancer causing over a long period of time, but I want to be perfect for this day..the one day I am allowed to be vain Smiley winking!

to Cabell: I only want to look different becuase as Katy mentioned I have tan lines from the summer and its not the look im going for. Thank you for advice ladies I will take it all into consideration! Smiley smile

I have to second Cabell - as comfortable and relaxing tanning is, its just not worth the risk to me. I used to tan quite frequently (for prom, lol) and then over time I had a mole on my chest that started to change size/shape/color. Finally went in to show my doctor, who said it was abnormal so they chopped it off (which was NO fun) and biopsied it. Thankfully, no cancer, but there were abnormal cells. Now I have this nice dime-size scar on my chest for all to see. It scared me enough that I just dont tan anymore, and I hope this kind of makes tanning beds seem a little more risky.
