Tan line panic

Dana S., on May 2, 2016 at 6:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29

I did not realize today how much sun I have gotten till I went for my dress fitting. My cousin sent me the pic and now I am in a panic. I need to tan in my upper arms and in my chest area. Should I go to the tanning bed I don't want to get the other areas darker than the other.

Go tanning (not that you look bad at all though)

Yes it's bad for you. But in moderation it's not going to kill you. Just be smart and don't let yourself burn. Skin cancer can happen from being outside too, just take precautions.

I don't tan myself ever (in a bed or naturally - I burn), but if I was in your situation this is what I would do. Go to a tanning salon and get expert assistance. I agree I'm not a fan of tanning beds, but I don't think this will really hurt you as it's a one time thing. Skin cancer can occur from getting too much sun as well. I just wouldn't be playing around too much before the wedding at the risk of making it worse. Honestly though, it's not that bad. If your title wasn't about tanning, I wouldn't have even noticed the tan.

Like makeup. Similar to foundation powder, but more tinted.

Go get an airbrush spray tan a few days before your wedding. A good professional can even you out and make your tan look completely natural.

    1) Stay out of the sun from now on, if you have to go out wear major sun screen. Your tan will fade in a month.

2)Go tanning topless. I hate tanning beds but I did go before my sisters wedding. Doing it once isn't so bad.

    3) Get a spray tan. Not in the booth but an actual person, they can spray heavier on the lighter areas and help even you out.

I use a higher SPF sunblock on areas I don't want to get any darker and sun tan lotion or oil on the areas I want darker to even out whenever I go out in to the sun.

PS. Following this since I'm currently trying to get rid of a gnarly watch tan and even out my arms and chest like you.

Try an air brush tan salon that offers contouring. They can blend, contour muscles...create works of art!

Tanning beds are REALLY bad.. even once!!! If it were me, I'd be wearing major sunscreen on the more tanned areas all day every day... try to get some more sun in a strapless top. Maybe put a lower SPF on the areas you want to darken than the other areas? A spray tan should even you out as well, but try it NOW to see how it looks on you and so that it has time to fade out.

Eta: and no more t-shirts for you lol. Stick to tanks or even better, strapless if you are going to be spending any amount of time outdoors!

I work outdoors and have some wicked tank top tan lines, and that is with using an SPF 50 every couple hours! I'm with ya...it does not make you feel beautiful in your dress! I will be doing the tanning bed thing just for the next month and then no more after that.

I have dark skin but I plan on tanning before my wedding cause I want even golden skin on my pics. I saw some tan lines today which made me think about this. I have a lot of time before now and my wedding day but it's something to think about. Enjoy your day!

I'd be worried about doing a tanning bed. It's just going to make all of you darker so you'll probably still see tan lines. As others have said, look into air brush tanning like where someone actually sprays it on you be a machine. The machines can be streaky!
