Tampa/sarasota/st Pete - Seeking free Spot for Tiny Ceremony (10min/9people)

Lisa, on June 19, 2020 at 9:33 PM Posted in Florida Planning 0 5

Hi guys,

Like many of you I imagine, I decided to cancel my 75 person wedding due to COVID. It feels more right, so my fiancé and I are trying to go super small now.

We'd like to do a short (10ish min) ceremony in a park, by the water, or on a rooftop in Florida instead. We've never really been beach people, more city people. So we're looking for a "Spot" aka a "Venue-less wedding" in either Tampa, St Pete, or Sarasota where we can have our short ceremony for FREE. Our few family members (7 of them) will stand and we will have a nice intimate moment and go to a nice dinner afterwards.

Wondering if anybody that lives near there can help us come up with something creative? Couple ideas would be

... a hotel where we could get a room there and find a corner of the roof deck

... a public park or trail by the water with the skyline in the background

Let me know if you have any ideas!

Hello. You can private message me if you need more help with vendors or what not but I live in the Tampa Bay area. I will say that for a couple of months that we had a lockdown a lot of spring Brides did postpone for the fall so depending on when you are planning to do your ceremony the dates might be booked up. If you're looking to do a small ceremony and you want to be by the beach I am going to recommend Hotel Zamora as Monday through Thursday they have an elopement package less than $2,000 and I do know that they have a rooftop. They will only let you have the ceremony but you might be able to take pictures at the rooftop. I am just saying from experience that other hotels especially on the beach either one won't fully accommodate you because they would rather serve a large wedding as that's how they make their money or they're going to still charge you a full wedding price but you can pursue looking other hotels. Other rooftops check Birchwood, Armature works as well. You can also probably get married on the beach and if you look up some officiant like oceans events they often will set up a beach ceremony for you as well as officiate it. In regards to Parks one of the most popular parks in Safety Harbor is Phillippe Park and it's very beautiful in regards for pictures as well as it is right by the bay and I believe you just have to rent out a shelter and maybe reserve a spot but that would be a very cheap option. You can virtually get married in any park so some other Parks I can recommend our Lake Seminole Park, Walsingham Park and you could even do Crescent Lake Park which is there downtown St Pete. If you want to look at the venue that I am using in Palmetto which is on the way to Sarasota I'm getting married at the Palmetto Riverside bed and breakfast. Fridays and Saturdays they charge some thousands for Weddings But on Sundays they have a $500 elopement special in which you can still have a small amount of guests. You get the venue for 3 hours and it is also by the marina so you can take pictures by the water. I do know that it is right across the street from Pier 22 so you can go there for dinner afterwards and I've also seen bride's host a wedding there as well. I hope some of these options help you out. I would also recommend that you check out the blog marry me Tampa Bay as that is where I even came across where I am getting married. Right now They are promoting different areas that are doing intimate wedding packages that you can check out and contact.

Kristen is the best person to ask for this for sure!! One of my friends got married at Hotel Zamora and it was beautiful so definitely check them out! Also I second following Marry Me Tampa Bay on instagram or check out their website. They have a bunch of resources for vendors etc. that have helped me in planning.

Lol thank you. I only know this information because I did a ton of research because it is not easy trying to find an affordable place with outdoor venue as well as a backup indoor suave in case it rains plus to have a place to get ready that's lovely for getting ready pics lol and that doesn't have on lookers because my fiance hates any kind of him in a public setting hahaha.
