Tall, low, or mixed centerpieces?

Lynnie, on January 20, 2016 at 3:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 57

In the past I've always loved tall centerpieces - I think they can be dramatic (in a good way) and they can really transform a room. I thought I had decided that I wanted a mix of tall and short floral centerpieces, to give the room dimension and save a teensy-tiny bit of money over doing them all tall Smiley smile

Now i'm starting to change my mind in favor of all low centerpieces....what do you guys think?

Low. I have NEVER thought, "WOW! what fantastic centerpieces!" but I HAVE thought, "Hey, I can't talk to or even see that person across the table from me!"

It's really personal taste, they both look great. I am a fan of shorter ones, that's just me. I don't like looking through/around things to talk to people.

I have the same dilemma. I love the look of the rooms as a whole with tall centerpieces mixed in but now I am leaning toward doing all low, but with two different designs.

We are doing tall and low also some with flowers some with just tall votive candles. For us it would give our room some more depth so we really liked it! But ultimately up to you they both look good.

We did a mixture of tall and short. Both looked great.

I like the mixture. We had opposites. Some tables had tall and some had short. I loved it.

I went with a combination of floral arrangements, but they were all low. So clearly, I prefer low centerpieces, but whatever you go with, I wouldn't choose all tall.

I think tall centerpieces are gorgeous but not great in a logistical sense. They're hard to see around depending on the design. I like lower centerpieces, personally.

I like the mixture. I think tall centerpieces help the room feel full and make more of a visual impact. I love both your short and tall inspiration. I do understand the concern about having to talk around them though.

Tall centerpieces mean I can no longer talk to half of the table :/ I hate tall centerpieces.

We first planned to do half the tables with low and half with tall but with the tall centerpieces being $150 EACH from our florist we picked, we have decided to switch to all low. The tables that were going to have tall centerpieces will have 3 floating candles 3 different sizes (repurposed from our ceremony they will line the aisle) and smaller low centerpieces. Here is my inspiration pic

I like low centerpieces. If I'm being honest I think talk centerpieces are gawdy, and you can't see the people across from your table. I think the low ones are lovely Smiley smile

I'm seeing more and more mixed ones, and I love that.

Every wedding I've been to with tall centerpieces we always move them because we can't see.

Personally I like all tall. I feel like it gives the wedding a very grand feel & theres more of an impact when you walk into the room. I do also like half tall & half low. Don't mean to offend anyone but I don't really like all low because I feel like the room looks empty & plain.

I had mixed: tall, medium and low.

The tall and medium had an identical look, my low were floating candles and silver cups with flowers in them (including picture). You also want to fill up the space, especially if there are tall ceilings or you have a lot of tables (I had close to 300 people at my wedding).

I would definitely make sure that the tall centerpieces are tall enough that people can still see each other and talk.

I think I'm seeing less and less tall centerpieces at weddings because a lot of my friends have chosen to save money on flowers, so now I'm just not as used to seeing them Smiley smile

I was all for tall at first but after talking to the florist and not being able to make up my mind with my centrepieces, I'm having a mix Smiley smile

I love the high ones i feel like the center pieces get lost with all the silverware when they're to small

We are having a mix of both high and low. Low are pretty but high make a bigger statement. High arrangements are especially needed if you have very ceilings.
