Taking a day to rest and relax!

Cheryl&rock, on June 12, 2019 at 4:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
I'm mentally and physically drained! We're getting married Saturday.
I'm worn out. So I decided that today I'm doing nothing, nothing at all!
All I have to do is finish getting the apartment ready for my sister and two of our friends that are coming from upstate NY on Friday.
I have to pack, and get my nails done.
I'll do my hair and makeup before we leave for the venue on Saturday.
But honestly right now I have no energy at all! I feel completely drained.
Is this typical?

Not married yet, but I know a couple of girlfriends feeling this way. One of them literally shut her phone off and sat in the tub for 2 hours haha.

YES. So I took off Friday before my Sunday wedding, and I was so ready to spend all day Friday and Saturday getting ready and spending time with friends and family. I woke up on Friday morning to get my nails done, and then was supposed to spend the afternoon with my grandparents and uncles... and when I got back from getting my nails done, I literally could not get off the couch. I was so exhausted and overwhelmed I felt like I couldn’t keep my eyes open. And I was so frustrated with it! Here I was, in the middle of the weekend that I had been looking forward to for a year and a half, and was too tired to enjoy it!

Cut yourself some slack. Let yourself rest. I literally just laid on the couch for 3 hours that afternoon. I ate lunch at home. Then around 3pm I went out to see my family. I was so worried that my exhaustion was going to interfere with my enjoyment of the weekend but... the deeper into the weekend we got, the more my adrenaline kicked into gear. By our rehearsal on Saturday afternoon, I was fully enjoying myself despite being tired. By Sunday, the day of the wedding, I seriously didn’t even feel tired anymore, despite knowing that I must be!

I would definitely say how you’re feeling is totally normal! And LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. Give yourself as much rest as you possibly can over the next few days! Take it easy, and have an amazing weekend! I can’t wait to hear about your day and see pictures! Smiley smile

    Hi date twin

I can tell you that I am tired too ahah. I think it's because we do so much to prepare and some days it can feel like there's just more and more to do or still a lot left to do

I’ve had this feeling come on twice already. I just stop and focus on anything but the wedding. Honestly if I don’t stop and get away from it I would end up canceling everything. These thoughts crossed my mind this morning as well. I just went to the gym, put my music on and after an hour felt a ton better.

Absolutely! Take the day lady. Take it. I personally am taking my day next week. My fiance is taking me out on the boat with a cooler full of beer and just letting me sit in the sun, all day. Take the day for yourself because after all, you are getting married!
