Tacky to indicate Open Bar on invitation?

The last wedding invitation I got made it clear they were having a cash bar on the invite. So my MOH and one of my bridesmaids want me to put "reception to follow with open bar" on the invitation/reception card.

My thought was just putting "dinner reception to follow." When people get there, they'll see that it's an open bar, but my MOH thinks it's better to make it clear since cash bars are apparently happening more and more.

Any thoughts?

    I wouldn't consider it tacky, just unnecessary.

    You don't need to indicate that there is an open bar. If you're hosting an event, that will be assumed. For those that expect a cash bar, it will be a nice surprise to be properly hosted!

    Would you want to mention the cocktails or open bar so that guests will be prepared to make travel accommodations or hotel accommodations for after....Guest tend to drink more when its free?
