Table/seating for your vendors?!!!

alaynab123, on August 23, 2018 at 7:33 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11
So I’m getting married in 8 days and it just now crossed my mind, do you have a formal table and or seating for your vendors like your photographer? I just thought about it and am curious to see if I need to quickly call my venue. With our numbers we have exactly 12 tables completely full so we would have to order an entirely new table with linens etc. is this necessary for the vendors? Is it rude if we don’t?

We had a table for our vendors. I don't think anyone else would have minded, but the photographer needed a place to sit and if they had a table they were around to get any pictures that happened during dinner.

We’re having a table for our vendors. I’ve seen a few other ladies mentioning their venue having a room where the vendors could sit.

I think the vendors need a place to sit but it doesn’t have to be the same set up as your guests. Check with your venue to see how it’s usually done.

Ask the venue that you are using what they normally do. When I did wedding photography sometimes there was a vendor table and sometimes we just sat on the floor in the hall eating. We sure did appreciate a table but it was understandable when we didn't.

I have my DJ and Photographer at a regular guest table, BUT the DJ and photographer are friends and the DJ's wife and in laws will be in attendance (so obviously I wanted him to be able to go eat with his wife). My venue normally puts vendors in the restaurant next door if there isn't room for them at a table.

Okay so we have a bar with seating at our venue and I just called my mom, she said she would call the coordinator to set out a standing cocktail table so if they don’t want to sit at the bar and eat they can at least stand at a cocktail table and eat. Is this okay? Due to our table count being exact, if we do an actual table there is a lot of playing costs. I don’t want them sitting on the floor because that sounds awful. But I would like them to have a place to at least set their things down and comfortably eat. After all we are already paying my photographer alone over 2,500 lol

Our caterer sets up a table in the back for vendors, since they don't get the salad course or appetizers.

I just put my photographer on a table that had an extra chair - I wanted her close to the head table in order to capture toasts and candid shots of us Smiley smile

Usually vendors get a “vendor meal” which is a lot less than your guest meal and the venue has a place for them to eat (back room, etc). Vendors who provide a short service (officiant, ceremony musician) usually don’t get a meal. But if any vendor is a friend then you may want to include them as your guest. 🙂

My wedding is outdoors. I I’ll be having a separate
yented area for my vendors so they can eat and take a break slightly away from guest if they want. There will be tables and chairs but they decor won’t be as formal or extravagant

Our venue actually brought this to our attention otherwise I would have sadly not thought about it! They suggested we have a table off to the side for them so that’s what we’re doing Smiley smile
