Tablescape

Hello all!

I am in desperate need of some advice on table decor.

Our wedding theme is rustic with peacock colors (blue, green, purple). Our venue has ivory tableclothes that are included in the rental price. I was thinking about doing the ivory tablecloth, a burlap runner, a beaver biscuit (small slice of tree... This is what this logger family girl calls it), small vases with flowers and candles.

I'm struggling with color combinations. The ivory tablecloth is certain. I'm thinking of doing a colored burlap runner (the three main peacock colors). A natural colored Beaver biscuit, clear vases/votives, and colored flowers with some white in it. However, I haven't found any peacock colored rustic themed tablescapes online like this. So I don't know if this would look silly. Please help? 😫👍🏻

Hee hee.... "beaver biscuit" I don't know why I love that so much! Smiley xd Anyways, here are some inspo pics I found on google images. I like what you described. Instead of a colored burlap runner, I'd consider keeping it neutral and add the peacock colors in your flowers / candles.

Since you are doing a rustic theme with the peacock colors. IMO I would just do the ivory tablecloths with the natural burlap ( the brown color) and then do the different colors in the flowers. You don't want too much going on, colors will start to get too much. But like I said that's just my opinion. I would go simple with the tables and then have the pop of colors with the flowers.

Also I'm not really sure where you would be able to find colored burlap online, I have seen it at A.C Moore though, also maybe try Etsy.

I agree with the natural burlap. You can add a lot of color with the flowers, beads in jars, ribbon around the jars, etc. Peacock colors are so bright and bold (and very pretty) so I wouldn't overpower them by using a colored burlap as well. Maybe use the feather in every arrangement and have one table with purple flowers, one with the teal and one with a blue flower arrangement.

Hey Allison! Congratulations on your engagement!

I had a look on Pinterest to see if I could find some understated peacock inspired centerpieces for you. Peacock colors are very bright so I feel like going for something with an accent color would look beautiful! How else are you incorporating your peacock theme into your wedding?

I too thought beaver biscuit was a funny term the first time I heard it. But I've grown fond of it now. Lol. You don't think a natural brown burlap with a natural brown beaver biscuit would look too neutral one right on top of the other?

I am having a peacock feather diamond headpiece in my hair. I was hoping to do a peacock feather as part of a boutonniere but my FH doesn't like it. 🙄😒😂

No, it's not too neutral, and is actually done a lot in rustic weddings. We plan to do the same. You will get a lot of color with your flowers, candles, etc.

    Yes and no... lol.

We did a mock table recently. The tablecloth in this pic is white but the ones we get through the venue are ivory. The burlap runner is folded over (that’s why it looks so thick.. didn’t want to cut it until closer to the wedding) and the colored ribbon is actually on half as thick (we just put it next to each other to make it larger) and we will have all three peacock colors (one table geeen, one table blue, one table purple). The glassware I LOVE. We will likely have blue delphinium in the tall glass, mini purple carnations in the medium one, and green berries in the small one. With baby’s breath mixed in.

There is only a few small problems we are dealing with now.

    1. Will the colored ribbon be too much with colored flowers?
    2. Trying to locate 5-6inch colored burlap ribbon is difficult (and runners with color in the middle sewed in is far too expensive).
    3. Do we put peacock feathers/pheasant feathers in the decor somehow?

I couldn’t find a patterned runner That I really liked, so started looking at fabric instead. Your options increase greatly, and with a 5 inch wide option, you’ll get at least 8 pieces from one length of fabric if it’s 44in wide (I wanted something 102 inches long, so each cut of fabric was 3 yards)
