Table settings

Our wedding is October 8th 2020. We plan to have about 40 guests. I'm so lost on wether to have long rectangular tables or the classic round tables.
Extra details: we are have buffet style. Our wedding is fall themed. We have burgundy chair sashes and champagne clothe napkins and burgundy tablecloths.
These are pictures of our venue set up for both styles. Any and all opinions are appreciated!Table settings 1 Table settings 2 Table settings 3 Table settings 4 Table settings 5

Personally I love the rectangle look but I got a lot of backlash from my dad and the venue on how limiting it is for conversation. I really broke my heart because I had planned the wedding on Having rectangle tables. I even had purchased the linens for them and didn’t want to waste money. In the end I compromised(but still haven’t told my parents the details) and put our family at two round tables and the rest of the family at 3 rectangle tables. My wedding guest count is 46 and the wedding is a week away! Play around with table setting and see what you like most. Your reception room look more long than wide maybe rounds better or both! Good luck

Girl! I am having the exact same dilemma! we are having a small DW, and the reception room looks very very similar to yours. The room tends to be longer and more narrow, which I think lends itself well to long rectangle tables. I had planned on having round tables, but I think it looks more cluttered with the rounds. But, the round tables have a more intimate feel and allow everyone at the table to easily talk to each other. Buuuuuut the long rectangle tables allow you to seat everyone together and not be responsible for separating people up or deciding who sits at what table- it promotes more of a “Community“ feel. I think round tables have much prettier decor options, where rectangle tables are more limited. But, rectangle tables tend to be easier and more cost effective to decorate. Uuuuggh! I go back-and-forth with this nearly daily LOL I have even purchased table cloths for both types of tables. Well I have decided to do is just wait until the final headcount is in, and then based my decision around how many and who is attending. If the numbers fit better with one or the other I will go with it. Or, if having the round tables will split up certain groups or families, then I will go with the rectangles.

Round is SO much easier. People have a little more space and it's easier to talk to people. I love the look of the long rectangle ones, but they are kind of a pain in the butt for your guests IMO. I've never loved sitting at them, especially the super long ones.

I like the round tables because it is much easier to have a conversation with the people at your table, but that's just me.

I agree with what most others have said. The look of the rectangle tables is nice. However, the round table is better for conversation at your wedding. Wishing you the best on your decision making 😊

Can you possibly do a mix of both? I personally like the look of round tables, though Smiley smile

I like the rectangle look but I do feel like it is harder to socialize vs a round table you see everyone in your group
