Do you include your vendors in the seating chart? We are obviously paying for their dinners, but I never really thought of where they would sit while they eat. Should we reserve an extra table for them and include them in the seating chart? I was going to say to just let them eat in the cocktail hour area, but there are only high boys without seating. They need seats, obv. What did you do/are going to do?

My venue specifically, told me that if they sit at a table in the reception area, we will be charged as if they were guests. There was no discussion about cocktail hour because they usually work during that time. In any even, the answer stays the same, if you sit your vendors with the guests and not in a break room, you get charged more, most likely.

My vendors are in a separate room so they can relax, which is what they want to do. The timeline should be created so they don’t miss anything. I’m a DOC too and this is what we do. Plus this saves you and extra centerpiece. Most vendors excluding maybe bands do t have large breaks in their contract. They usually eat quickly and move on to the next thing.

I have been thinking about this as well and had never thought about another room. That's such a releaf because we are very full with tables in the main area.

Maybe that's true for your specific venue, but in general, where you seat your vendors is not why they would be cheaper.

I believe my venue has a table for them in the contract, so they're included in our price.

Maybe see if your vendor has something like that?

This is a good question. I think most typically they get sat in a different room, but definitely ask your venue about it. I think if that's the case for us, the only exception will be our officiant, who is our reverend and will probably be put at a table with some of our family.
