Table Decor

Hi, Everyone!

I found these runners online today. They are so perfect for us. My FH grew up in the country, and still lives in a rural area. I have talked about living in "corn county" for years. He actually got really excited when I showed him the picture. I only ordered one so far, to see what quality these have. My question is, what centerpiece ideas would anyone suggest? We are an older couple, so we are doing things that represent us: he loves popcorn, I'm a Reese cup/Coca~Cola fan. Food is going to be casual-burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, etc. Table Decor 1
Thanks for any ideas!

I’ve seen some people use a popcorn container as the centerpiece:

It doesn’t go with the runners though but when you said popcorn that’s what I thought of

Thanks, Melle! I thought of those, too, but didn't quite match. Hoping to find a popcorn machine for reception.

Since the table runners have a lot of design and color on them, I’d keep the centerpieces a little more neutral in color.

Possibly something like the first pic with mini sunflowers (or whatever flowers you plan to use). Or the second and third pictures, using burlap ribbon, or green or yellow ribbon. Table Decor 2

Thanks, Sexypoodle! Those are really pretty. I especially like the first one. I was thinking of white hydrangeas and yellow carnations in a brown or green vase, to kind of look like popcorn. Not sure how it will really look until Hobby Lobby opens tomorrow.

Hydrangea and carnations will be nice and mimic the look of popcorn. Are you having/using actual popcorn anywhere in your wedding?

Yes, just not sure how, yet. I saw an idea (Pinterest?) using a small baggie ull of popcorn, wrapping it in green tissue paper, to resemble a corn on the cob. Really cute. Also would like to rent a popcorn machine, but not sure if that will happen. We could also use prepackaged single serve bags of popcorn. FH loves popcorn, so I do want it included somehow. Open to ideas on that, too.

Those are both great ideas. When I was a wedding planner I did a “popcorn bar” for a couple that was used as their favors. I used a variety of containers filled with different flavors of popcorn. So when you mentioned popcorn, that wedding came to mind.

I would love to do that, but I'm not sure we will be able to do to covid. Our wedding is next year, so maybe we can. Funny thing, I was actually loooking at sarapas runners for a Fiesta themed wedding, and the corn on the cob runners came up. If we can't pull enough ideas togather for a corn county wedding, fiesta it is! Goid thing we have a little while to get it togather lol!

Ugh!!! 🤦🏽‍♀️ I forget about covid sometimes. It’s good to have a back up plan. Either of those will be fun and work out well.

You could also use empty glass Coke bottles and put the wheat in there and dress it up with some burlap or something along those lines.

I agree with others in that I'd keep the centerpieces more simple, so they don't take away from the table runner or clash with it. The popcorn container as a vase of sorts is a super cute idea. And I'm loving the wheat bundle centerpieces! Using empty coke bottles is an option too. You could find flowers that match the colors in the runner too. Here's some ideas that might work... the first picture is just inspiration, you could take more vintage type bottles or canisters to use as a vase. The second picture, I wouldn't do a pumpkin, but a neutral color low vase with simple flowers in the same shades as the runner might work. In the 3rd picture I love the muted tones and low vases. That looks great together! And the last picture if very simple; that would be nice.
