Sweetheart table ideas

Kimberly, on May 22, 2020 at 12:04 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 10
Hi everyone, so Fiancé and I have our reception table decorations figured out for guests but are coming up blank on how to decorate the sweetheart table. (Mini round table for two people)

Sweetheart table ideas 1Our main guest round tables will have these IKEA lanterns with the ivy garland around it on blue table overlays with mini candles around it. We might throw in some sunflowers here and there or attach to the lantern itself since those will be throughout the wedding.
Any ideas for a simple sweetheart table that would sort of go with the other decorations picked out?

Love the sunflowers idea! What does your bouquet look like? Maybe use that as a decor element on your table? Or the bridesmaid bouquets as a place for them to put them? What I'm doing is placing my bouquet on our sweetheart table by either laying it down on it's side (so the flowers are facing outwards) or putting it in a glass vase I haven't decided yet, and then decorating around it will simple candles, garland, or a cute mr. & mrs. sign. My flowers are also silk.

Here's some examples of what I mean with the bouquets, and I think you can do something similar with a smaller round table.

Oooh, I like the idea of double using my bouquet! It’ll be mix of white/blue/sunflowers but haven’t finalized that yet. Fiancé is concerned about cluttering up the small table and we won’t have enough room for our plates/cups/etc.

That's true! Don't want it to feel cluttered, I guess it depends on how big your bouquet will turn out? Maybe just the bouquet will be enough! I saw this and its so simple and elegant, also enough room for plates and cups. Can even add little tea lite candles in votives if you want, instead of taller candles. We brides pay good money for these bouquets and want to get the most use out of them haha.

We'll be using my bouquet to decorate the head table in front of us (no one will be sitting across from us, so it'll be the center "eye point" of the table), so I second that idea!

Maybe a bigger lantern for you with a pillar candle and some rose petals?

There are tons of things you could do. Instead of the lantern you can do a bird box for cards or please some some pics below:

Thank you for the great ideas! I like the idea of the thin rectangle box with flowers and candles in it.

Our centerpieces are gold spray painted wine bottles with 1-2 flowers and some greenery- very simple because we're having a brunch wedding. For our sweetheart table, we're basically taking some of the arrangements used during the ceremony to decorate the reception/sweetheart table.
