Sunday Weddings

Okay so the venue I want MORE THAN ANYTHING isn't available on the date I've chosen BUT the day after, which is a Sunday, is available and $1,000 cheaper. I'm kind of leaning towards it but I've never heard of a wedding being on a Sunday. So thoughts?

We're doing a Sunday wedding and it looks like we'll be date twins! We have our own reasons for it being specifically on the 14th so we didnt have much flexibility. We ended up choosing a beautiful venue relatively close to home and even though our ceremony wont start till 6pm, its ended up being the dream venue I didn't know I was looking for.

Our wedding is on a Sunday! We have no time restrictions on the venue, and the next day is a holiday, so people can stay in town, or fly out that day. Sunday weddings are pretty common, and a great way to save money!

My wedding is on a Sunday evening and most of the wedding I've been to were on Sundays (religious reasons). People may leave earlier but that's really the only difference from my experiences. My FH's extended family finds it inconvenient.

I'm having a Sunday wedding, it's on Columbus day weekend, so a decent amount of people should have the following day off, but we're also having an earlier ceremony- 3:30- so that the reception will end by 9 and people can be home at a decent time.

My only concern now is that our dinner will be served early, and there will be a lot of hungry people come 9:30-10

I'm having a Sunday wedding myself! Go for it! The day happens to be our anniversary of when we first started dating, but I'm glad it's on a Sunday because it's cheaper. I've gone to weddings on Thursday, Monday (outside during the total solar eclipse of the sun, it was actually freakin awesome) and a Sunday one before, and I also had a friend go to one on a Wednesday recently. O_o Whatever works!

My options were Friday or Sunday, all the Saturdays for a few months were booked at my venue. I knew right away it would be Friday. If you're having a Sunday wedding I wouldn't expect a party, I'm not dancing and drinking too much when I have to go to work the next day. The one Sunday wedding I went to we left immediately after dinner, as did most people. They only people on the dance floor was the bridal party because they took the day off the next day. I think Sunday weddings are pretty inconsiderate of your guests.

The people who care about watching you get married will find a way to be there no matter what day it is.

Make it a brunch wedding if it's on a Sunday. Unless it's a holiday weekend or destination wedding, I wouldn't stay late at a Sunday wedding.

    Can you pick another date?

My darn comment just vanished. I have worked the past five or so Sunday's and they have had a great turn out. I will say our venue is more of a destination venue if that makes a difference. Most guests are either staying on our side or in Annapolis. You get a higher turn out when guests are staying the night. You would have thought our guests thought it was a Saturday night this past Sunday. They drank and partied! I love working a Sunday wedding like that. The people you want at your wedding will be there no matter what day of week you have it. You have it when you and your FH want to have it.........................

Oh booooooooo Shauna D. Our dance floor was full the whole time at our Sunday afternoon wedding and people definitely drank. If you're so pissy about attending a Sunday wedding then just don't go. I'm sure the hosts would much rather you stay home. Op, we just had our Sunday wedding and it was perfect. We had a pretty low decline rate (97 people went out of 109 invited)

Sunday weddings are super common. I would and have attended a Sunday wedding and it was the same as a Saturday wedding, just ended an hour or so earlier.
