Sunday wedding

What do you guys think about a Sunday wedding? We are doing the ceremony at 3pm and the reception from 4pm-9pm.

A Sunday wedding can be perfectly fine. Some people might say you will have a lot of declines. I do not necessarily agree. However, you know your guest list the best and you know particularly if many people will be traveling. I would suggest reaching out to VIPs (parents, siblings, closest friends, etc.) to see if they are ok with it. Best of luck!

I'm doing a Sunday wedding because it's cheaper! People will come regardless of the day of the week. It's your wedding!

I don't think it sounds very festive, but if that doesn't bother you go for it.

I would go to a Sunday wedding that ended at 9 if it was less than an hour away. If it were further away or later then I would probably want to take Monday off. I would do that for people that I was very close to but maybe not for someone I wasn't as close to.

That's fine but be prepared that people probably won't party as much and may leave around 8

That's exactly what we did. There was only 1 group that left right after dinner, but they leave everything early. I'd been to numerous Sunday weddings prior to ours and never really gave it a thought.

I am doing a Sunday wedding. not because it was a cheaper option for us, but because my venue had no Saturdays available. Except for two very weird days (thanksgiving weekend and December 23rd, NO THANKS! lol)

to be honest with you, I reached out to people that are important to me and asked if that would be an issue, which luckily, was not. Now, I would love to reach out to every single one, but we're talking about 175 people... lol

Don't worry, it will work out just fine. We're actually starting reception at 5:30-ish...

Our wedding will be on a Sunday. Ceremony starts at 2pm and reception goes from 3-9pm. I love it! Our family have been giving us positive feedback on it being on a Sunday so no regrets! Plus we are saving A TON!!!

Our wedding is on a Sunday. Ceremony is at 2, and celebration ending at 6. Casual wedding with no dancing.

    From my experience:

We had a Sunday wedding, during the school year (September). Ceremony was at 3, reception from 4 until 10.

The dance floor was empty by 7:30, and most of my guests were gone by 9:00.

This was very disappointing because I really wanted a "party" reception. Lots of booze and dancing.

We did not have a very high decline rate.

    Just anticipate a different atmosphere.

I'm also doing a Sunday wedding, not because it's cheaper but our family reunion is the Saturday before and there will be relatives I'm very close with flying in from overseas. This way, they don't have to make another trip like that within a month. We are doing ceremony and reception at same place so all the OOT guests really don't need to figure out travel and what to do in-between ceremony and reception. Ceremony at 3:30, cocktail hour 4:00-5:00, followed by dinner and dancing. Ending it at 9 and going out to party more after the reception with the friends and family that took vacay and want to keep partying.

That's cool , you might just need to take into consideration for your guest (out of town/state) that may have to take off that Monday though

My wedding will be on a Sunday only because my dream venue didn't have any Saturdays left. Same time frame as @Pamela. I'm excited! The people who I am close with will be there until the very end. The people who decline due to the Sunday date? Well, better for me! I want 80 guests or less anyway... only invited more to appease my mom lol.

Nothing wrong with that. It's no too late plus that's what save the dates are for to plan ahead. I've gone to plenty and had a great time. Besides I like to start my work week on a Tuesday :-)

I'm having a Sunday wedding with roughly the same timeframe as you. I think it's good to end earlier on a Sunday though. Around 9pm like you mentioned is perfect.
