Sunday Wedding - Wedding Weekend Schedule?

Allie, on February 3, 2018 at 2:11 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 10

Hi! I'm having a Sunday evening wedding ceremony and reception (6pm-midnight) and am in the midst of planning a wedding weekend. I am thinking to have our ceremony rehearsal and dinner on either Friday or Saturday before, and to have a pre-wedding brunch or picnic on the Saturday before.

For those of you who've had/are planning Sunday weddings - what did your wedding weekend look like? Thanks!

Midnight is really late to end a reception on a Sunday. What about guests work/school schedules? I think a fair amount of people will leave early.

Yeah, no one's going to hang out until midnight on Sunday and most people aren't going to party like they would for a Saturday wedding. Most Sunday weddings require some concessions, such as earlier start and end time. I would look at starting around 3 p.m. with an end time at 9 or 10, but still expect that some will likely leave a bit earlier, especially if they have kids.

My wedding was on a Sunday and it was from 4-10. Since it was more of a destination wedding (2 hours away), a lot of guests stayed in the area for the night, we had a brunch the next morning at a hotel. We didn't have a rehearsal dinner since we didn't have a bridal party but I think either the Friday or Saturday before your wedding is fine. You may not want to pack up the days leading up to your wedding too much. It may have just been me, but I found the wedding itself to be pretty exhausting.. so I would suggest saving your energy as much as possible beforehand.

I’m having a Sunday wedding but my timeline is 1-7pm so people can have a good time and still go to work/school the next day if they choose. Or you f we decide to carry the party somewhere else after 7 that is also an option.

i am planning my rehearsal dinner on Friday so Saturday can be up for whatever.

Sunday wedding 4-10p. Even ending at 10 I think I’ll lose people. Family gets in on Thursday night. We’re having a family lunch on Friday and playing tour guides. Saturday getting nails done and doing a welcome dinner for OOT guests. No brunch Monday

I’m having a 5-11 Sunday wedding Smiley smile
sundays are most people day off and my wedding is close to most people’s homes. I am doing a wedding block and plenty of notice of people want to do a four day week that week

i know some people will leave early which is why we are not having drawn out events

I had a Sunday Wedding. We did a rehearsal lunch Saturday at noon and then basically hung out at the hotel with family the evening before
