I'm trying to figure out how long we'd need to reserve our venue/how long people stay and dance at a Sunday evening reception. Our desired date is not a holiday weekend, so most of our guests will have work the next day, or have to leave to catch flights.
Our hypothetical timeline is as follows:
3:30-Ceremony
4:15-Cocktail Hour
5:15-Reception begins
???-Projected end time?
My FH and I want people to "boogie the night away." We love dancing, and we love going to weddings where people are dancing. I have been to weddings where I've had to leave early because I was tired/had to be at work the next day. I don't want to start the reception too late so people duck out before the official end (or the party becomes a dud because too many people have gone).
Should we move our start time earlier in the day, to ensure adequate dancing time? Or can we move our timeline later?
At what point on a Sunday night are people likely to head home?
