Subtle "Food Themed" Wedding

Let me preface by saying I'm not a fan of "themed" weddings, so I'm using this term VERY loosely and any touches will be quite subtle (no offense to anyone have a themed wedding, it's just not for me)! Let me preface by saying I'm not a fan of "themed" weddings, so I'm using this term VERY loosely and any touches will be quite subtle (no offense to anyone have a themed wedding, it's just not for me)! Anyways, I'm a registered dietitian and FH manages a grocery store. We met working in said grocery store several years ago. Basically, food plays a bigger part of our life than most people. I'm looking for subtle touches that could kind of nod to our history and current life. I've seen centerpieces with cut up lemons or limes in the flower vase, which looks nice but I'm not sold on it yet. I've also thought of using a bouquet made of veggies as my toss bouquet (broccoli has always reminded me of a bouquet, which is what made me think of this... I know it's nerdy and strange).

Has anyone seen food-related decorations at weddings before? If you saw something like the ideas I mentioned, would you think that's weird? Any other ideas? I definitely don't want anything tacky. TIA!

You can get creative and specific with your searches to take some ideas away from. Like "fruit themed wedding" etc for ideas, you can pick and choose what you like.

You could have mini jars of jam or a special artisan food as your favors.

Also I would make sure you pick really good food, maybe farm to table or all organic options or something. Maybe a cheese display.

I actually saw an episode of four weddings on TLC where the bride was a chef and did this theme!! There was a fire place at her venue and on the mantle were vegetables and greenery. It was actually quite cute, see if you can YouTube the episode to see some of her other decor!

Lettuce, maybe parsley, and artichokes in the centerpieces; you could do herbs in mini planters for favors

I'm especially into this one with the head of lettuce in it--I've also seen the purple lettuce and purple cauliflower used

Have you seen the Thanksgiving centrepiece Karen Bertelsen from 'The Art of Doing stuff' did one year? It's absolutely beautiful and would be relatively easy to re-create on a modest budget.

If done tastefully (pun intended) this is a really cool idea!

I live a minute away from the artichoke capital of the world, I’ll totally send you a case of them for your wedding (we always have them here, although they are better at certain times of the year!)

I really like the kumquats and berries too, nice for fall.

I love this idea, run with it!
