Stupid invite envelopes won't seal

Ashleigh, on August 16, 2016 at 5:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 24

Aauurrggh!!! So I'm trying to seal all the envelopes to send the invites before 5 today and as I start doing them (after numbering the rsvps and stuffing each envelope with everything that needs to be in there) the envelopes decide they want to do a half assed job of sealing. Grrrr. So FH is running to Walmart since it's closer and cheaper and getting envelope moistener with adhesive so these stupid things can be sent out today and I don't have to worry about sending them anymore! I just want to check invites off my list already. People have been asking when they're going to be mailed.

Thats odd. Maybe use tape as a backup as well.

Mine did that too! We ended up using regular tape. It didn't look as awesome but it worked.

Get a glue stick. You're way early.

That's what I'm thinking might have to happen if this moistener with adhesive doesn't work. FMIL says it should..... but we will see

Use a glue stick. My stationer actually recommended that to me for my invites rather than trying to moisten the adhesive on all of them because many times it's not strong enough for higher-quality card stock. The glue stick worked great and was quick & easy!

Take a deep breath and have a glue stick or tape handy just in case.

Also i understand the excitement of it and wanting them done. But I would hold off mailing till middle of next month. People will lose the invites, or look at the RSVP and then lose it because they have "plenty of time". You're potentially creating more work for yourself by sending them out so early.

Anybody seen that Seinfeld episode called "the invitations"?

Use glue stick or tape but whatever you do, don't lick them Smiley smile

    Glue stick, yup.

Slow down, killer. My invites aren't even in hand yet and I'm a full month before you!

Isn't 3 months a little early to be sending out invites? I thought standard was 6-8 weeks....unless it's a destination wedding and people need time to plan trips? But yes, glue sticks are the best!

Ours wouldn't seal either - we used a double sided tape roller thing..

Sidenote: I called Vista Print just to give them a heads up, they credited our account for the inconvenience. I wasn't expecting that at all!
