Struggling with non-cheesy entrance/introduction song

JuleeM, on September 17, 2015 at 9:40 AM Posted in Planning 0 7

We need to pick an song to play when we announce the bridal party, family, and make our entrance to the reception. We want to just use one song. I almost didn't want to do th intros because every video I have seen seem so campy and the DJs sound like sports newscasters. There will be no dancing in for us. No cheese. We just want to walk in normal. All the songs I'm seeing for suggestions seem to be the opposite of what I'm looking for. If you did just a normal walking in entrance and didn't "dance" your way in, what did you use? I almost feel like it should just be instrumental and softly playing in the background so the DJ isn't shouting over the music.

I would just pick a song that you like, or your suggestion of instrumental music in the background! If you are googling "entrance songs" they are probably going to lean more "look at me" and cheesy!

We're not dancing either, but just using a fun song! We're using "On Top of the World" by Imagine Dragons.

We are using "Out of my League" by Fitz and the Tantrums. Not your typical dance party entrance song. We will probably walk in and he will spin me or something.

Ummm just dont dance in. Just because you pick shut up and dance for example doesn't mean you have to cha cha your way in. And about sounding like the sportscasters I think thats just how it goes unless you want your DJ to be monotone and boring. I feel like for the entrance (and the entrance only) there is not really an in between.

We used the superman theme song from the Christopher Reeves days. It was done by and orchestra and sounded cool in the background of the DJ introducing us. Pick a theme song from your favorite show or something. We didn't dance into the reception. We actually walked in with our dog.

Totally with you. Here's what we did - no wedding party entrances (they just seated themselves with the rest of the guests). We did have a quick "introducing for the first time as a married couple..." intro (our coordinator convinced us this was a useful photo op for the photographer and our guests, and it did in fact seem to be) and the. We walked in to the dance floor and went straight into our first dance. We picked a song that was personal to us, not a pump up the crowd song at all.
