Stretched ears/help!

Jesse'sGirl, on April 20, 2017 at 2:18 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

I used to stretch my ears and they have not grown back. The holes are not huge but they are big enough to where I can't wear heavy dangling earrings but if a stud or hoop (or the back to a stud or hoop) is small enough, it will go through my ear. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could shrink my lobes back or maybe what earrings I could wear? I'm scared that I might lose an earring on my wedding day. Smiley sad

I used to have this problem. Fortunately for me, my ears have now shrunk back to how they were when I first got them pierced. I don't know of a way to speed up the shrinking process, but I would avoid anything heavy in them up until your wedding day since that can pull on the holes. Also, what worked for me, was buying studs that were larger than my hole and then buying massive backs to put on them. They make ones with plastic clear circles around them that were much larger than my hole. These were a godsend for me.

What size have your ears shrunk down to? Sometimes you can find adapters for the backs of earrings for that problem.

I'm following. Same issue but it is from wearing heavy earrings in the 1980's as a teen. My lobes look like slits rather than holes. I heard that they can surgically sew the slit but other than that you can wear larger earring backs. They sell these rubber ones at Claire's that I have on all my studs.

I bought beautiful bridal guages on Etsy. Maybe you can find some that will fit your ears without strecthing them. There are a lot of options on etsy

My MOH has gauges and she found earrings for her size that allow you to put a normal sized stud in and completely hide the gauge hole.

@Jessica B. I stopped at a 00 too. My holes also look like that! I will try to find some "hoops" like those. Thank you!
