Okay, so i quit smoking about a year ago and gained about 75 in 6 months. i have stretch marks EVERYWHERE and i mean i places i dint think were possible. they are really really dark and i've gone through like 3 jars and 2 tubes of different types of stretchmark creams. i followed the dirrections exactly and they all said that i should notice a chance in a couple weeks. i havent seen ANYTHING! i guessi really only care about the ones under my arms... and any that would be seen in the removing of the garter. its so unfair! i dont even weigh 200 pounds and im really not all that big! i mean my dress is a size 18 but i have to have it taken in a little. i just dont want to be self consious on my wedding day. i wanna be able to enjoy every minute of it!

Are you on any birth control? When I went on a pill, I gained about 40 pounds over a 7 year period. But I hear everyone is different, and some people gain more, while others do not. I think you should try to exercise once a day, even if it's for 30 minutes, find time for you.

I tried the airbrush with two different MUA's to cover them up on my arms and it did not work. It lightened the effects but did not erradicate the appearance. I have yet to try Dermablend or MAC professional cover up. My dress finally came in today and my arms definitely have them I will take pics and see what we're dealing with...good luck and please f/u with your primary care doctor. Good luck!

I read somewhere birth control cause stretch marks, not from weight gain, but the hormones have some effect.

^ thats starnge. idk i started birthcontrol pills 4 years ago and only gained 5 pounds when starting... quiting smoking i think is what did most of it. i used smokes to deal with stress and since i started at 13 i never really knew what stress was, and then when i moved out on my own... well with my now fiance.... i really had to deal with stress and i lost my crutch. i think most of it was just stress and the fact that i was starting college and no longer had my parents home cooked meals everyday...etc. but there again its not the weight im so concerned about. i love my dress and its actually a little big on me so if i lose weight it'll be really big on me! but its just the stretchmarks that bother me so much. cause u can see um from a mile away
