Stretch Marks... HELP!!

Tanisha, on August 15, 2009 at 9:02 AM Posted in Planning 0 15

Ok.. I need a little help. My dress is a halter and I love my dress BUT my arms are out and I have some stretch marks. They are light but I wish I cover them so I feel more confident.

Is there anything I can buy that works well on African American skin that will not get on my dress? HELP!!

    Tanisha,

I agree with you. Airbrush makeup will be your best bet. Definately, do something to diminish them. Cocoa butter as Jessica suggested would be useful. However, for the day-of, airbrush makeup will cover and stay on. Make sure that your makeup artist uses the products designed for camouflaging and concealing and not the makeup designed for the face.

    Good luck!!

If you can't find a airbrush artist. there is a product call Dermablend its for covering scars and other imperfections. I have not used it lately but when I tried it it didn't wipe off easy. I am not sure if they cover all skintones I think they do. My local Macys carries it in Cosmetics

Thanks I forgot about Dermablend and looked on line and saw it in all shades. I am going to check out my local Macy's next weekend.

    Tanisha,

Please let us know how the Dermablend works. I have a tattoo that I would like to cover for my wedding and I've gotten mixed reviews about that particular product. I'm currently looking for a waterproof/smudgeproof cover-up as well.

I had stretch marks I got from hitting puberty mederma works great at minimizing them. My doctor recommended it to me and I'm so glad he did. They will never completely go away but it did drastically reduce them and improve my confidence.

I am covered in stretch marks, upper arms, torso, legs, I'm a friggin zebra lol and the Dermablend works great! Even on the beach! My biggest advice is to avoid sun exposes, strechmarks show up worse after being in the sun, I'm going to use dermablend to help me pull off my strapless dress too Smiley winking

Dermablend covers blemishes, scars, beauty marks, stretch marks, and tattoos. The skin tone range is amazing and it's very cost effective. It is smudge and fade resistant when used with the setting powder but I'm not so sure about waterproof. The consultant at the counter could help you find the best shades for you. I have a large dark colored cross on my upper arm and was completely surprised how well Dermablend covered it.

Dermelastic Best stretch mark serum! Used it through the last 4 months of my pregnancy and my skin felt so soft, and didn't itch. It was recommended I continue using 3-4 months after having the baby so stretch marks don't occur after pregnancy, either.

Contact a local esthetician with great reviews and see if you can get something done with them. There are so many lasers, peels, creams that work really well on stuff like this. Make this a part of your wedding budget. The last thing you want is makeup on your dress or anywhere else and honestly it is a long term win if you can minimize or get rid of them permanently.
