We are 21 days out from our wedding day and both of us have 2 weeks of vacation time already scheduled off. We have NO IDEA where we are going for our honeymoon!!! I'm the planner, he is not...but with all the wedding planning I haven't been able to focus much on solidifying plans for the honeymoon...

We are 21 days out from our wedding day and both of us have 2 weeks of vacation time already scheduled off. We have NO IDEA where we are going for our honeymoon!!! I'm the planner, he is not...but with all the wedding planning I haven't been able to focus much on solidifying plans for the honeymoon Smiley sad Can anyone offer any suggestions that would keep us in the under $2.5k range (not including flights) and be between 7-10 days? The sky's the limit as far as destination goes.

Thank you for any ideas!!! Smiley smile

If flights are not an issue, definitely consider south east asia. Thailand, Vietnam and even Indonesia have some wonderful places and there really is something for everyone. You can get a lot of bang for your buck and there are some amazing beaches and resorts.

Apple vacations has great last minute travel deals. You can get a big bang for your buck. I'd definitely check them out

I would call a travel agent or look for an all-inclusive. You could also check Groupon Getaways for a last minute deal. If FH and I had $2.5k to spend on a vacation right now for 8-10 days, we would fly to Cuzco, Peru and hike the Inca Trail. But I know that vacation isn't for everyone.

Since flights aren't an issue, it really depends on what you want for your honeymoon. Not sure which airline you work for, but you're based in ATL so I'm going to hazard a guess that it's delta, could you get to Sydney? It's amazing and definitely a once in a lifetime type destination. Central Eastern Europe would also be fun. It partly depends on what you want though. If you want to relax on the beach, you're looking at a very different vacation from one where you want to sightsee. FH and I won't consider Europe for ours because we want to relax for our honeymoon and if we make the flight to Europe were going to want to see as much as possibly while there.

I felt the same way. I used a travel agent. Gave her my budget, said I wanted all inclusive with a nice beach and she gave me a few options. I picked the one that looked the best and she handled the rest. I'm on my honeymoon now and that was the best decision I made. Stress free and 0 work for me.

All-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean are the way to go!! Check out Cancun/Riviera Maya in Mexico, Punta Cana, the Bahamas or Jamaica. All beautiful and a great bang for your buck. Very do-able in your budget!

Also, please change your avatar!! (This is not the same picture as the background picture on the app). The generic avatars are associated with spam/trolls. It also helps us get to know you better and it makes the threads easier to read when there aren't a bunch of the same avatars. Here's how: Settings > Profile and Privacy Settings > Account Image > Change Image > Upload > Update Profile Settings.

All inclusive is the way to keep you in budget. Check out grouping and living social. Also travel pirate is a great resource for last minute cheap travel

I don't understand why it's a stress. You don't have to plan a honeymoon right after the wedding. You can cancel your time or just relax.

    I agree with a PP,

My brother is a groupon fanatic and he has gone on two incredible vacations (some of which included airfare) all inclusive.

You ladies are awesome! There are some really great suggestions in this post. We definitely want to RELAX! Been a lot with planning so where a little sight seeing is fun we want to just kick back and soak in local culture (food and drinks) in a safe and welcoming atomsphere. I've never used a travel agent so I guess I automatically thought that would be an extra expense we didn't want to incur. I'll sit down with FH and look into it though as well as Apple Vacations, Groupon, and maybe even a cruise deal!

We had our heart set on Thailand but it seems like so much going on over there right now so want to be somewhere terrorist aren't targeting ????

@mrsA cancelling vacation time isn't an option for me. Once it's set, it's set. It's a little easier for the FH, but since we have the time and we are looking forward to it we will be going SOMEwhere! it's just a matter of narrowing down where to go and staying within budget

You're in a perfect position. Look up last minute vacations and you can find some awesome deals. Since you don't have your heart set on a certain location there should be plenty to choose from.
