Strapless workout tops?

Amber, on January 11, 2013 at 11:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

Hey! So our wedding is in October and I'm not too fond of tanning for the sake of tanning, but I work out and I'm outside a lot and I've been thinking about my impending tan lines from tank tops and sports bras in the summer... I use sunscreen, but I still DO want a little color for our wedding.

My dress has a modified sweetheart neckline... Are there any good/not too expensive strapless/sweetheart neckline work out tops that you'd recommend? I'm a modest B cup and can get away with less support than women with bigger breasts, but I still need to feel like my top is tight enough in the bust to not move around. There are strapless sports bras too, right? Cheap ones?

Thanks everyone!

Gosh, doesn't even need to be a workout top, just something that stays up!

I dont have anything to specifically suggest but what about a swim suit? I'd just go to whatever store you like and get a tube top or some sort.

The only thing I can think of is maybe a bandeau style swimsuit or workout top. They're not sweetheart though. More like a tube top. I don't think there is any sweetheart neckline strapless sports bras. There wouldn't be enough support, and IMO sports bras are supposed to minimize jiggle and cleavage, which would be impossible with a sweetheart.

What about using those lotions that slowly build up color like the Jergens kind instead? It'd save your skin in the long run.

Lululemon has some low cut sports bras, they still have straps but they are very thin. Not sure how much support they provide, they are marketed to be used for yoga but I see Lisa from bodyrock wear them when she does her HIIT routines...

I'm sorry, but the words "strapless" and "workout" have never been used in the same sentence, at least not by me. Maybe they exist for members of the Itty Bitty Titty Committee, but if you're working out, you need some support. I've yet to find a strapless sports bra or workout top that exists.

I'm with Micachoo! I am a member of the IBTC, and I can assure you that no such thing exists, even for us. I am a dancing IBTC member, and even dancers won't wear strapless bras or leotards . . . Can you work out as usual and get a spray tan before your wedding?

This is the only thing I could think of. It actually is a workout top. It's from this website.

They do exist?! Wow, not that it would ever work on me :/ Maybe @Amber will have some luck with that

Probably won't work for a sweetheart neckline. You can't actually wear them as low as on the model unless you're okay with a possible wardrobe malfunction.

Even with a smaller cup size I'm afraid that strapless and workout don't go together. The straps kind of offer a huge majority of the support an while you don't think you need it, they still break down and you may regret the decision later in life over it.

Can you wear a bandeau swim top as the "sport bra" and a snug fitting tube top as a workout shirt? I was worried about the same thing for my Nov wedding. You can also just wear short sleeve shirts, but protect your forearms from tanning with basketball shooter sleeves while working out. It seems like a lot, but having skin that tans very easily makes it worth the trouble for me. At least for wedding day lol. Another option is to avoid outdoor workouts until after that day : (. Good luck to us! : D
