Strapless & small chest (afraid of nip slip!)

Jessica, on April 26, 2014 at 9:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

Hi everyone,

I have three weeks left until my wedding- and have already had three fitting appointments. However I am still concerned that when I lift my arms over my head (slowly, not even fast like being spun while dancing!) half of my SMALL chest feels like it is coming right out of the top.

The cups of the dress are too big for me, and although she sewed foam cups into the dress and has taken it in on the sides- I still feel in danger of a nip slip. It seems to fit at the waist, has the extra internal waist band, and she added boning on the side, so from what I've read it seems like the structure is all there. However the dress is slightly heavy and the strapless top does not move with my chest when I lift my arms. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Maybe try some double-sided fashion tape? That may help the fabric stay snug against your skin.

Have you used it before with success? Any recommendations for where to get some?

First of all, I love that you said "nip slip". My fiancé uses that phrase all the time and it cracks me up. I second trying the fabric/fashion tape. You can get it at a fabric store or google it.

Edited- I have used the same tape Barbra suggested and it works really well!

I've never used it myself, but I think it's what celebrities use when they have really low cut gowns on the red carpet and things like that-- it helps keep everything in place.

    Amazon has it:

    http://www.amazon.com/Hollywood-Fashion-Secrets-Double-Tape/dp/B000YOSI6U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398565264&sr=8-1&keywords=fashion tape

Otherwise, you might be able to get it from a lingerie store or even your seamstress.

Thank you! Getting the tape to try at my next appointment. Do you think I should wait to put it on until the reception? I can sneak away with the MOH to help me...I guess I really just need it for the first dance for a couple of spins. The rest of the time I can be conscientious about it!

The boning may seriously help. My dress has boning and once I put it one its like "I aint going anywhere fool!" haha, I've never done tape, but that sounds like a good solution Smiley smile
