Strapless dresses and painful armpits

Laura M, on December 4, 2013 at 4:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

Are wedding dresses another cruel but beautiful thing woman have to endure to look gorgeous but be in pain while doing it?

I have a corset strapless dress and while it had to be extra tight since it was so big, after wearing it for a bit my armpits were red and hurting lol. I'm seriously going to add some kind of gel pads or something to the inside..Anyone else have this problem? What did you do to overcome it? I'm guessing on my actual wedding day it will be the least of my worries and i won't even notice it but i'm just curious. Is this normal for strapless dresses that are pretty much like armor because of the corset lol.

If the corset fits correctly you shouldn't be having these types of problems. I had a strapless corset dress, and have worn corsets several times in my personal life, and when well made and with the right fit they shouldn't dig into you.

Is your wedding date really August of 2014? If so, you should have plenty of time to get that bodice altered to fit you.

It sounds like it was a bit too tight around your bust. I believe the only part that should be any sort of painful about a wedding dress would be the beading rubbing against your skin, which will definitely be a factor for me.

The only reason my underarms would be hurting is if it kept rubbing on the sequins of the dress. Otherwise, it could just be that your dress isn't fitting your properly.
