This is considered tacky, and most will agree not to do this. Sorry

You shouldn't. Not only would you be having guests pay for drinks for themselves, they would basically be buying drinks for other guests as well.

This is the first time I have heard the term, however if it's a party the stock the bar at your wedding reception, the answer is that you should not do one. You should never make guests contribute financially to your wedding, it's extremely rude. If that's not what it is, then enlighten me!

Whoever is throwing you a shower can make it a 'stock the home bar' party, but if you're even considering throwing a party to hoard alcohol to serve your guests at the wedding, you need to stop thinking about that now.

You are the host. You pay for the bar.

That's not a good idea. Pay for your own wedding liquor.

Do not make your friends and family pay for your wedding bar through this kind of party. I have hosted a few pretty great "empty my bar" parties which are a raging success!

Do you mean a shower? For your own home bar? Because you can't throw your own shower. If someone else is throwing you a shower with a bar theme, typically showers take place in the 3-ish months before the wedding.

If this is something else, then no. Just no.

You don't, simple. This question was my rookie mistake when I first joined the forums. Just don't do it, you will soon understand why it is a horrible idea. Best of luck!

I understand some of you may think it is rude. However, I am not the one who wants to have one several of my guest have asked me if they could host a stock the bar party for my wedding. a stock the bar party is a party where guest come a have a few drinks and if they want bring a bottle of liquor for my wedding (they do not have to at all .)

Is this really any different than a cash bar?

Randi, no. Decline that type of party. It's a really rude thing to ask people to give you things for your wedding.
