STILL WAITING ON WEDDING PICS!!!

Mrs. Phillips, on June 22, 2012 at 3:55 PM Posted in Married Life 0 13

So i'll be married for a year this coming sept and i still have no pics yet. i turned in my final draft of pics in Feb, but i still have nothing it'll be going on 5mons and i still have no albums, not mine or our parents. i called last month to see what is the hold up, she told me by june i should have them and you don't want to rush the process, but june is almost up and i still have not heard from them and still no pics. how long does it usually take to make and them and anyone else having this issue? There has been so many issues with these people that i feel like we got ripped off and if i knew what i know now i def would not have gone with them.

It can take about six months. What do you mean you turned in a "final draft of pics"?

Like for our photo album, they had me pick the pics i wanted in them and the layout of the album, that is the only thing we got where just photo albums for us and our fam. we didn't get a bunch of pics, which is why i'm wondering why the long wait

That is frustrating. Photographers I know get images back within 4-6 weeks for proofs and 6-12 weeks for final product, although six months is normal also. It's not uncommon however for brides to wait up to a year for their pictures, although I find that ridiculous.

A word of caution to future brides, verify in your contracts when you will receive your photos after the wedding!

"Don't want to rush the process"? What are they doing? Looking for a cure for cancer?

That's insane, there's no reason it should take that long. Does your contract say anything about it? We had all our images, discs, and albums in less than 3 months. The last thing was the album, we had the discs and printouts in about 6 weeks.

Wow. And here I was getting antsy. Our photographer typically runs 2-3 months for the whole gallery of edited digital images, both in print-quality and web-quality formats. We have immediate printing and posting rights for all of those images.

So do you have the actual images from the wedding and you're just waiting for the album? Do you have printing rights to the images you have and are they high resolution for print quality?

Im sorry but it shouldn't take that long...

I personally have a teaser picture gallery within a few days no matter how busy I am.. I'll stay up all gosh darn night to get you some teasers for sure. Im excited for you.. just like you're excited to see!

A nice album is very time consuming and take many hours of work to perfect but you are getting jerked around.. IMO.

For me photographs are on an online gallery within a week after the wedding, however some photographs will be online the next day as a teaser. Then the bride orders what she would like and we create everything and get it sent to the printers. This process takes 2- 3weeks and you have your wedding prints and albums in hand within a month after your wedding. Brides love our turn around time. We are proud of our work and want to show the bride and her family what we have a done!

But yes.. You need to find out what going on....

    GOOD LUCK!!!

Our photographer told us it could take anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months to get our album back...we got it in 2 1/2 months though.

Do you live near the photog or have family that does? I'd call her first thing Monday and inform them that you'll be stopping back by Friday to pick up the album as was discussed due to she is already in breach of your contract (providing that 1 year is over the time they gave you initially).

The biggest issue I had with my photog was I paid for an extra hour and she said we'd get a "ton" more than the 1k images..we ended up getting like 800, then she gave me 50 more of the ones she took out, blinking etc when I asked..however I let it slide (although still a bit annoyed) since she spent like 3 hours for my B-pics for no extra charge..but anyways..I had a family member who got digital pics back when they got married but never got their album and the photog (diff one) skipped town and many other couples were also left high and dry.

So in short I would do a lil stalking if I were you and find out what other couples used your photog and if you can tell by her website, or contact them

Somehow to see if they ever got theirs..Also you should probably sent a certified letter too about the fact that you don't have your album to your photog..however if the contract states no time frame, then there isn't much you can do. Good luck!!

We got married over a year ago and we still don't have the majority of our photos even though he was paid in full several months before the wedding. We have been very patient with the photographer, despite the fact that he rarely returns phone calls or emails and when he does, tells us we will have the photos in a week but then doesn't contact us for over a month!!!!!

Regretfully, Carl W. Nunn (NYC City Hall Wedding Photographer) ended up being the WORST part of my wedding experience Smiley sad

What was written in your contract?

I JUST got my pictures back a few weeks ago and my wedding was at the end of Feb. I've known some brides to not get anything until 6months after the big day.

Read your contract and see if there are any certain timelines stated. Then, do your research. If your photographer has a facebook page you can do some digging and find out how long it took for other clients to receive their pictures.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am a wedding photographer Smiley smile

The length of time it takes to deliver a product depends on the photographer, his or her editing process, and where your wedding falls in the busy season. I actually take a relatively long time to deliver pictures because I work alone and I value post processing pretty heavily. My delivery time is between 3 and 6 months, mostly because of my style. I tell people upfront that I am not a fast editor, and most of them give me the time to deliver the product for which they hired me. Ask your photographer what his or her average delivery time is, and then give him or her space to finish the product to their satisfaction. It will benefit you in the long run to be patient if you have hired an artist; your pictures will be better!
