What has been your biggest moment of sticker shock? For me, it came today when my coordinator finally got back to me with floral decor options to use up the $200 floral credit in our package. Was not expecting $3,050!!! ETA: photo of said florals in comments, for some reason I can't add pictures to...

Oh man! @el10717 is that the venus garden @ Caesars? I was planning on using the $200 for my bouquet. Are additional flowers needed at that venue? Might have to push up my budget now!

My sticker shock was my dress. I didn't want to go over $500 but my dress is double that.

ETA: I know that is cheap compared to some dresses, but I was stubborn about spending that much at first.

Originally, it would have been flowers. The first florist we got a quote from gave us a quote of $2,000 (wanted 50% deposit) and that was not even including enough center pieces. She quoted us for 20 and we need 24, not to mention a lot of other things were off too. The florist we booked, however, has been used in FH's family twice now and does excellent and we will only spend a max of $800 Smiley smile!

Our major sticker shock was our venue though. It was $7,500 but it's more bang for your buck and gorgeous.

@LittleOne it is! I don't think flowers are necessary. I'm not using the credit for a bouquet because I'm borrowing my sisters fabric bouquets and boutonnieres but I was hoping to use up the credit with something else. Looks like I'll be getting petals down the aisle for $50. I was just shocked because the $3k literally only covers what you see in that picture. Not worried about that or adding flowers elsewhere, I was just like WHAT?!?! I mean that's what our whole package costs.

That's where we're going for ours @el10717 . I can't believe it would be $3,000 for that!! Wow! I'm glad we won't need any other flowers beyond the bouquet/button hole

Mine is rentals so far. $3000 for linens, chairs, and place settings for 100... They charge $0.70 to fold each napkin! That's over two times the rental price! Ugh.

That's is where I am having my ceremony at too! I have yet to decide how I want my bouquet look like. That's cost $3000, I am worry how much my bridal party bouquets and boutonniere going to cost me.

I was aware of the high price for venue and flowers, but I was not budgeting for $900 for our officiant. It's a DW and required to use an attorney... this does include the travel, but my brain was thinking $300...

The price of barroom trailers sucked but I knew it would be pricey. The only sticker shock I have received is from my cake. This is because the vendor increased the cost per slice by $2 for flavors other than chocolate or vanilla. During the planning, she said it would cost extra but I didn't expect it to be more than decorations. Based off her "basic" price list, I budgeted for $800 and got a quote for $1250.

Everyone keeps mentioning floral cost shock. I don't actually have a final tally on that and will have to wait to be invoiced. He quoted me the cost per item, but it's not all added up in a total amount. I have 42 tables to get centerpieces for so I know that bill will be pricey.

Like many people, it was photography for me. I knew that a quality photographer cost quite a bit, but I wasn't prepared for some of the quotes I received - some starting at $5k, others at $7k. That is just not anywhere near realistic for me.

I still have to look into the flowers; now I'm scared. I trust my florist, but I may have to scale back my expectations a bit.

Very similar to yours. Was told my centerpieces were included by the venue but they failed to mention that meant white hydrangeas in a glass vase. When we met with the florist the centerpieces we talked through with her were super simple but had more flowers than hydrangeas since we didn't know. She came back with $75/centerpiece plus all the other decorative flowers. Had no idea that was how they did it. Florals ended up coming in at over $3k with everything we spoke to the florist about. So our plan for flowers drastically changed. Hydrangeas it is!!
