At home picnic? game night? movie nights are a given.

My FH works nights, so we usually do morning or afternoon dates, but some things we like to do together are play cards, do puzzles, go on bike rides, go out to breakfast (pre-Covid). Maybe turn on music and practice your first dance?

My fiancé and I went to the dollar store and bought paint and 2 blank canvases. We then looked up sip and paint ideas on YouTube on our TV and painted. We ordered dinner out, painted, had drinks and just enjoyed each other’s company! Very cute cheap date night!

Sur La Table is offering online cooking classes! We are planning on doing one as it is something different that we have not tried before.

I want to practice our first dance. Only problem is we can’t agree on a song.

Follow @mint_to_be_weddings on Instagram! She’s a wedding planner who had her wedding during COVID and lately she’s been posting about her weekly date night tradition. Of course they’re staying in (due to COVID) so she’s posted a few fun stay at home date night ideas in her stories. Last week she taught her husband to make a family recipe, it was a pizza ring thing so something casual and that he would like to eat anyway. It was quite cute. 😊

I hear you on that one! My FH and I agree on a lot of music, but we strongly disagree on a lot too, so coming up with a playlist has been a chore. Good luck picking a song!

We set out saying we would not waste our daytimes at home, and would go through old to do lists and finish each, any projects still worth doing. Did the easy ones. Now, for some mostly outdoor stuff within sight of the kids playing in the yard, we are building some stone walls. I did a few after we built the house addition. Then it got hot. So we have been spending 2-4 hours most evenings, stone masonry by moonlight and spotlight. We have finished a side patio 14x22 in slate with cement, and are doing the last half wall of river rock this week. Next week we rip up the first, original to house deck, which we will replace with an enclosed porch. I had almost forgotten how much fun we always had working side by side on things. We have steady evening babysitting for our 5 kids, the dogs are tired and quiet, and we have tapes of old records, and CD's. We have not had such regular uninterrupted time together since the first couple years of put marriage, Before Kids. Getting a workout. Done some dancing in the moonlight on the deck, too.
